Kamon's Journal: Suffering some wear

PART I: CASSIS

Day 1: Today was pretty awesome. I'm writing this at about 10:00, and I've just been accepted into an academy for kids like me, kids that are "gifted"! I can't wait to go out and meet people and train and fight! Once I've trained enough, I will let the police in my hometown find me. I know they've been looking. Maybe even the police in that other town, where those mental girls were. I can't wait to teach them a lesson.
Anyhow, I was walking around on the streets, searching for food, valubles, and the other stuff I /used/ to need, when some old guy came up to me. "You're the guy who blew up my school!" I recognized him as the principal. He called out for the police, so I had no option but to attack him, right? Anyhow, once he had shut up, there were people screaming and yelling and stuff... and when I had FINALLY dealt with that, there was this other guy who approached me. I was gonna zap him when he waved a white napkin at me and told me about the Academy, and well, here I am!

Day 4:

My head is spinning.

I haven't written in here for a while, so it's important to know I've met 6 people.
Oshaya
Roxanna
Seaheart
Ven
Dementia
Maeve
and I hate every one except Oshaya and Roxanna. Roxanna is a friend, and I "like" Oshaya.

I met Oshaya at Cassis lake. We kind of got off on the wrong foot, but then it was okay afterwards. I met Ven at the lake too, and he ended up gathering 3 friends together for a battle. They SAID they called it "2 on 2 on 2" but it's pretty obvious they're ganging up on us. Somewhere in the midst of all this I began to like Oshaya. I went to see a movie and it pretty much explained it.

I met with Roxanna at the Fountain and I told her about the four arseholes and she gave me some advice. SOMEHOW she knew that wasn't everything on my mind, and so I told her about Oshaya. She said she'd try and figure out what Oshaya liked so I could...hm...I don't really know. Curious.

Anyhow, today was the dance, and the first bit sucked the bag, so I went to my room and listened to some metal. Then I came back and Oshaya was there. She walked up to me, we talked a little, had some punch, and then she told me she liked me. Me! I was extremely lucky. So we danced and then the dance was over. So I left. And now my head is spinning. I need some music right now. Bye.

Day 45:

I never write in here. There's nothing to say. Until today.

Cassis has had its fair share of deaths. Mostly some of the Maeve/Ven-types killing others, some accidents, and there was recently a person who hung himself. But this is different.

People are dissapearing.

It's rumoured that the government is taking them. I find it ridiculous, but whatever's causing it, it's happening. And, truth be told, I'm a little scared. I know I could more than defend myself against them. But what if I can't? Worries are flying through my head. I know it won't be an easy night, and there are weird shadows in my room. I'm gonna try to sleep. Hopefully there'll be a solution in the morning. If not tomorrow, the next day. I just hope it comes soon. Night.

PART II: TRANSITION

Day 46:

Well...crap. They got me. Yellow bastards took me in my sleep, and now I've woken up with a headache and I'm in a cage. I'm writing this in a sort of semi-darkness. Ambient light comes from underneath doors. I spent a bit searching for a pencil in this light, and decided to write. There's not much more I can say. Oh, right. There are other gifteds here too. I can't recognize them as friends, but I've definetly seen them around Cassis. There are about two other people, and they're obviously weak. I can make out some scars and bruises, but just barely. I'm going to try and escape. If I can, I'll be writing in a few hours. Gimme a minute.

Not a frigging spark. They must have drugged me. If I'm ever able to, I will kill them. I can just imagine it now.

However, I'm exhausted. I'm gonna go back to sleep. Bye.

Day 47:
The labcoats tested me today. Tissue, blood, and hair samples for future reference, running me through mazes, de-drugging me to see how much damage I could do when trying, and burning me if I didn't, pumping me with electricity to see how much I could take...the whole deal. From what I understand they will test me like this every day for a few months to see if it changes. I got drugged again and thrown in me cage where I'm writing this. The gifteds beside me have started talking to me. Nothing much, just casual talk. Which, in the scheme of things, is kind of funny.

Day 49:
The testing continues. It really sucks. My feet are aching and bleeding from where wires they strap on to my feet heat up to burning temperatures to get me to continue doing something like running through a maze or to stop me from doing something else like attacking them while un-drugged. I keep clinging to a hope that someone from Cassis will try to rescue me. The other gifteds hope so too, bu

Day 56:
Arseholes stole my pencil and broke it. I managed to convince one to give me another one. He left to get one and didnt come back. When he came again to retrieve a gifted for testing, I threatened him. He leaned up right close to my cage wall and said "What're you gonna do about it, huh?" I then discovered that I could still move fairly fast, and that my head fit through the bars. His nose made a cracking noise and he stepped back. He grabbed the gifted with one hand and held his gushing nose with the other. He left and kicked the door shut. When he came back, later in the day, he had a pencil.

Day 78:
Amazing discovery. I've found out how to beat every single maze they have! I found out they switch between 37 or so, and so I've memorized how to get out of each one. Let them try to figure out how I can do that. I can imagine them now:
"It must be a gifted thing, with increased intelligence!"
"Yes! We must waste many months on trying to find it in his DNA!"
Little do they know I'm just smart the old-fashioned way. Hah! Kamon strikes back! A little.

Day 104: I've spent a while here, and the routine has calmed down. We get free excersize now as opposed to maze runs. We have to hunt for our own food now, but they still drug us by "graciously" taking our hunted food and "preparing" it for us. It's getting better, but I'm still in a god-forsaken cage with dumbcrap guards and arseface scientists. A few other gifteds went insane. They had been held for longer than I. I'm worrying a lot about it, and am getting a little paranoid. I constantly think that whenever someone doesn't understand me, I'm insane. It's rattling, and the place where we hunt is running out of food. It's not a self-sufficient system. And I'm getting sorer, and my legs make a cracking noise when I start to run and I rarely get any sleep. Well, I suppose this isn't helping. Night then.

Day 300:
Tonight...WE DINE...IN HELL!!! Heh. Sorry, couldn't resist. There's nothing really going on. It's getting easier as some of us adapt a little, but a few of us have died and there are new arrivals every week now. The small room is getting cramped with cages. But at least there are people.

Day 327: I was diagnosed with appendicitis today. They're gonna give me surgery tomorrow. At least I get healthcare here.

Day 329: Surgery over, and I get a week of relaxation so I can heal before the tests. Plus I have a wicked scar to the right of my bladder from the incision.

Day 365:
Today marks the day when I first came to Cassis. Yay! Or maybe it's tomorrow...I must think about that. I'm going off the "Day: #"s, not the actual date. We don't get the date. Or a newspaper.

Day 400: The tests started again. Although we are given psychological tests every other day. That's a difference. My legs are getting worse and worse, and my feet are blistering because I'm rusty at the mazes, and I'm fighting back more. I can't take much more of this.

PART III: ESCAPE

Day 1:

Hard to explain: let me put it in steps.

1: A week or so after my last journal entry, some scientists came in thinking that my life span is limited because of my power.

2: They shoved me in a suspended animation machine. I noticed a few others were there too.

3: Now, 9 years later, a rebellion freed me.

4: Me and the other gifteds managed to get our powers back by sneaking and getting our anti-drugs.

5: There was a long fight against the labcoats and the guards, but eventually I managed to get the other gifteds to leave while I distracted them. I figured since no one had rescued me by now, no one would miss me.

6: Lo and behold, I managed to pull off my rage-detonation. I stayed here for a bit, gathering my strength.

7: I left. I don't know where I'm going to go. Yeah, I do. Cassis. I'm going to go back there and then it will all be okay. No more cramped cages. No more running through mazes. No more aches and blisters.

PART IV: DOTADO

Day 1:
So, I flew to Cassis. Just my luck, it's destroyed. I get all angry and stuff, sending electricity everywhere, and I'm approached by this family of gifteds. I tell them why I'm angry, and then I realize that the dad is Jason. Words cannot describe how happy I am! So, they let me walk around with them. My mood was instantly lifted, and they have the coolest little kids. They're twins, named Eric and Erin. Michella's really nice. I hadn't had a chance to talk to her at all before, and now that I do, she's pretty cool.

We're walking around, and we find our dorms (half destroyed, but Jason's CDs still intact) (AWESOME, RIGHT?!) and the danger room. I've figured out how it works and make it into Old Cassis, and then the Empire State Building. I wonder how it's been.

So, Michella wanders off, and Jason soon leaves to try and find her. Then, Eric hears Michella scream and runs to try and get her. Jason put me in charge of the kids, so I grab Erin and run after Eric. Meanwhile, Jason has just finished battle with some wolves in the library. Soon enough, the wolves are back, and Jason entrusts me to deal with one.

It was an ordeal for most people, although it didn't seem like TOO big of a deal for me. Anyhow, we got to Jason's home, and after a bit with Erin and Eric discovering telepathic abilities (stay clear, ha ha), Jason said I could stay at his place! As a son, basically. And it's also good because, to the government, I don't even exist! So no papers and stuff. I'll try to get a job to cover the rent, but I'm not expecting anything fancy. The only High School grade I've graduated from is grade 10. I'm in grade 11 right now (technically).
