It's true what they say about the good dieing young. Lucky Ven.
Ven was what some would call a oppurtunist. Not that this was nessarily a bad thing, at least for him though the small war had left him with a scar or two. During one of the first explosions a strip of shrapnel had lodged itself somewhere in his mid back.. Normaly a injury here wouldn't have been much to fuss over, for normal human anatomy it would have just been an injury, and despite it's being in his spinal region it most likely would not have caused any kind of para;ysis.
However in Ven's case this was not quite so. his body had special nerves that controled his ability to switch in between his serpentine states, and his human states. this small bit of metal had struck this nerve rupturing it, and making him loose control of his form shifting ability. for awhile his body remained in the form of a small viper occasionally seen around the rubble whispering to people like the devil to Eve, giving them idea of what to do, pretending to be a ghost, or some other nonesense like that. He did however snap back, though the nerve didn't heal correctly. Much like how a brocken arm would heal at an odd angle if not put into a cast, the nerve lost part of it's function in the collision. he went from a human to something...different, in l9imbo between human and snake.
Scales went down his spine, and covered his arms. his teeth became even more promomnent forming much larger fangs. His eyes went from scary to terrifying. No longer were they just electric green. Rather than pupils they were simply slits, surrounded by a sea of green so bright that it glowed in the dark. His sanity also slipped farther from him. he lost self control much more frequently and quickly lost his ability to deny himself a meal. were he had once been able to resist eating class mates, he failed. if any happened to be near when a fit of hunger came over him they were gone before they could blink.
This isn't to say he lost everything. he could still think, still be normal when the time called for it. he remained his old sharp tongued, clever, smug self, just somewhat more smug, and a whole lot more crazy.
Now for how he managed to weasel something out of this for himself. plenty of people were injured. He had through his powers made them much like his younger self, forming a small tribe group. he had the means to begin his old plans, if onl he could some how relapse back into his old self, somehow regain his humanity. Then and only then could he, finally put his plans into action
