Everything seemed much simpler on a swing. Chesna watched her feet as they grazed the grass underneath her; she moved back and forth, unable to stop herself from smiling. It seemed like she had never left Cassis... Dotado. Damn it: she was having a terrible time remembering that Cassis no longer existed. Oh well. On a swing, none of that mattered. It was just the wind in her hair, her white dressed tucked in at the sides to avoid any unladylike showings. She would even laugh every now and again, just a bit to herself, remembering what it was like to enjoy life. She was starting to forget, or maybe even replace, him. She hadn't made any new friends since returning to Dotado. Maybe it was time she move on, give up, and make the best of this new city. There were so many different people, ones that she had never seen when the place was Cassis. She could easily make new friends... Find new love...
She shook her head a bit to snap out of her daydreaming. She was being silly, of course. Wasn't it enough to be back? To expect to find love, to even think of using her powers again, was ridiculous. She'd brought out so much hatred in people last time she used her powers, and it'd brought her nothing but grief. No, Dotado would be different. She could blend in. She could be just another pretty face in the crowd...
She sighed this time. That was so much easier said than done for a siren. Using her feet, she pushed her swing a bit higher. Sirens weren't meant to fly, but maybe... if she pushed hard enough...

Mezzidok walked through the park, wearing his usual sailer captain's outfit. He didn't have the cape on it. He couldn't stop wearing it for some reason. He jad just found it by random during the war, and he guessed with his new knowledge might as well come a new wardrobe. At least his symbolized something.
It symbolized patriotism. He had nothing to defend or live for in his life. At least he just didn't know what to live for. So, live for his city. For it's newfound beauty and unity. But if another war came, he'd fight just as hard as last time. At least, that's what he figured for now. He wore his usual straight, stubborn face.
His captain's hat flew off, and he ran after it, his white hair billowing with the air hitting his face as he ran. It flew up, and hit a girl while she was swinging. She looked very elegant and pretty. Happy......like she had found new beauty and life in this city like so many others had. He didn't show it though. He didn't like her. He was never one to go just off looks straight away. Hell, he had never had a girlfriend, and he had only instinctively knew what love and like were during the war. He jumped, with feline agileness and grace, caught it, then landed down on ground. He put it back on, sighed and said "Sorry about that. Wind." He gave a little nod/ bow, then got down on a swing, a swing away from hers. He started swinging, but didn't talk, and still not smiling.
(Sorry if I gmed with the hat hitting her in the face. I just wanted to start things off. Sorry if the post is overdone or crappy.)

Her swinging instantly slowed when Chesna felt something on her face: a hat. A hat? How odd, but it all made sense when a man approached. Of course: it was a rather windy day, understandable that it would blow his hat away. She let her eyes drift over him for a moment. He was in uniform. Was he some kind of officer? She couldn't tell; it was probably a uniform from the war, and she had fled before anything had truly started. Maybe he was a hero; maybe he was just another soldier. She couldn't tell.
"It's alright," she finally said, her swing now going at a slow rocking pace. "No harm done." Her smile hadn't quite diminished yet, but she did look away from him, back at her feet on the grass. Shoes were so overrated.

He swung back and forth, listening to her acceptance at his apology. He looked at her, and saw she wasn't wearing shoes. He looked at his feet. Spiky boots. Nt good to kick somebody with. "Good idea. Wind will feel good." Instantly, the boots vanished and turn into a ball of mist. It looked like air had taken some cloudy form.
He saw how puzzled she was at his look and then decided to at least answered the question in her mind "I ain't no hero if that's what your wondering. I'll admit, I took out a hell lot of footsoldiers during the war, and even a couple of tanks through well....use my shoes as an example. Mist. Anyway, my name is Mezzidok. My damned parents never bothered to tell me my last name." He said bitterly and somewhat hatingly. He wouldn't let them get to him. Wouldn't let it show.....
"Anyway, glad you didn't get caught off guard and fall. Wouldn't want to have rushed and had to come and save you from a nasty fall, eh?" He said with a bit of a jokingly smug smirk. He was glad she was a little different. not as perky as the last girl he met in the forest. He seriously hated perky for some reason.

Chesna let herself chuckle lightly. "I usually have fairly good reflexes, so I'm a bit surprised I didn't catch that hat. But, I am graceful enough to avoid a fall... My name is Chesna. Chesna Darwin. Sadly, my parents did bother telling me my last name." Her smile flickered for that one moment as she thought back to her father. Zachary Darwin: even thinking it was foreign to her. She didn't dwell on her father much; any man who would leave a devoted wife and five year old daughter wasn't worth much thought.
"I'm sorry if I don't seem too impressed by your war stories... No offense, but I'm not one for war. I happened to leave right before this last one even really began. Never had the stomach for it, you know? Just the feeling... It was too hard. I left the city before it was Dotado. No one seems to remember Cassis any more though... Ah, I'm babbling. My apologies."
With a small smile, Chesna gently placed her hand to her mouth to signal that she would be quiet now. She had such a terrible habit of pouring her heart out to strangers, particularly male strangers. She was searching too hard for her knight, especially the type who wore shining armor. Her mind was so clouded with fairy tales; she was a pathetic romantic, and she knew it, but it was what made her happy. It couldn't be that bad, could it?

He listened intently. He was very polite when it came to people he liked. Listen when your spoken too, and when they have indicated they're done, speak. He just sort of knew that was how it went. He didn't mind that she was 'babbling'. Making smalltalk was good. She did it in a way he did. Information that was personal, but not too personal enough that it made a difference to whoever heard it.
"No need to be. Not really meaning to brag but....whatever. Some people just don'to do it, can't do it, or are too coward. But being a soldier or fighter isn't for everyone. But if it's in your power to help, and you have fought before, but are then just afraid of the prospect of dying for your own home, then you're a coward. I think with you it's different though. Not much, but not the same either. By the way, people probably don't want to remember it."
"Tell me right now, does this place hold the same former glory it did? Same sunshine and land? Probably not. It may be more unified, but our individuality and the sheer tension of fighting because we were gifted, being in a school where we could mingle with our own kind must have been great. It's what made it Cassis. But it's over now. It's Dotado. The unified place where nothing can seem to go wrong, and all enemies are now friends. The sun's out, but it's gonna be dull. Those are just my thought anyway. Still, I think it's true. No more excitement I guess.....your turn." He said, the whole something of a speech with confidence. When he spoke, he made sure whoever was listening heard. He felt like some politician, telling people what it was and how things were going to be from now on after that war.
