"Pump it, Louder, Pump it, Louder, Pump it, LOUDER!" MoAnna flipped through songs rapidly finding songs that she wanted to listen to for the moment before flipping once more to find something else that tickled her fancy.
She settled her bookbag at the edge of one particularly large tree. It seemed to be an offshoot from the forest that was nearby, and it was rather large and shady. A smile lit MoAnna's face. She sighed and sat down, leaning her back against the trunk of the tree. She frowned slightly as she tried to get comfortable but sighed and placed her bookbag behind her back. She leaned back again and the smile formed anew. "Much better." She sighed and plugged both earphones back in her ears. A book came out from seemingly no where, but was actually pulled out of a rather large pocket of her cargo pants.
A Good Charlotte song popped on, and MoAnna frowned again. "Why is this on here?" She listened for a minute. "Oh, I like this song..Not enough to listen to it now though." She flipped and another song came up. She heard it was her favorite. Marilyn Manson's This is Halloween. Her head bobbed up and down as she brought her book around to her face. She sat her MP3 player down and planted her face in the book.
The cover of the book was a light color. It had a porthole on a door, with a simple title. Door to December. She was entranced by the horror story. It wasnt as good as Dean Koontz's Whispers, but she liked it so far.

A young man strolled in such a relaxed manor it was almost ridiculous. One would think he had taken one too many sleeping pills by the look on his face. However, he was merely just bored and generally took on such a face when bored. His dark eyes fell on MoAnna, her headphones and finally her book. Weren't there studies that said music scattered your thoughts? Eh, he himself would like to argue with those so-called-scientists. They seemed like a bunch of music-haters to him.
The shade of that very tree seemed inviting. So, being careful not to step on her or her legs or anything, Derek made his way to the other side of the tree. There he lowered himself into a very comfortable position. His shoulders and upper back were resting on the tree trunk, along with his head, his legs sprawled out casually. One hand rested on his waist as the other lay out on the grass as if he were dead or something.
" Ah sweet shade and relaxation." He said more to himself, as he was certain the young lady on the other side of the tree couldn't hear him. Even if she did, he was almost certain she would have no need to talk to him. Though, he hoped she would at least attempt small talk before he would slip away into unconceiousness and sleep.

Kamon sat under a tree, playing his acoustic bass that he paid for with his money from his job. The independence, combined with the interdependence, was really good for Kamon. He'd never been in a situation where he had things, especially expensive things. It filled Kamon with a great sense of happiness. He lived in a house, happy with his new siblings and parent (the other parent was more of a friend, even though over 10 years older). He had a part-time job, which helped him pay off some of his debt to Michella and Jason, although they were often reluctant to accept it.
He played along to his mp3 player. It happened to be "Snow ((Hey Oh))" by the Red Hot Chili peppers. Flea was an interesting bassist, and Kamon, although a heavy metal fan, appreciated a fun-to-play bass line once in a while. He also sang along as best he could, seeing as how the bass line made it near impossible. The chorus often allowed for oncomplicated singing. "People need the cover of another perfect wonder/and it's so white as snow.../Runnin' through a field where all my tracks will be concealed/and there's nowhere to go...I said Hey, ey yeah, oh yeah..."
Soon the song was over, and although he appreciated the heavy song by Rammstein that was coming up next (Sonne, if you're curious, which I know you're not), it didn't sound good on an acoustic bass. Kamon skipped to the beginning of his playlist to try and find Californication but he ran out of batteries. He grumbled and began packing up his bass. He walked around the park with it strapped to his back when he came upon a book reader listening to music. Kamon looked at her for a while, wondering if she'd notice him. He went and sat down on the bench next to her and asked her "What're you listening to?"

A shadow passed by MoAnna, and her eyes drifted from her book to the guy walking past. One eyebrow lifted in curiousity. She smiled slightly and covertly slipped one earbud from her ear and flipped it over her ear so it would hang carelessly. When she heard him say something she leaned her head to the other side of the tree.
"Indeed it is." She said with a small grin. She closed her book and flipped over to her side to lean easier to the other side of the tree. "Name's MoAnna Celeste. Who're you?" She asked carelessly. She brought an arm around to shake his hand as her music started to blare Godsmack's Voodoo.
She saw his face and stance, and it said that he was just about to pass out. Oh, no, cant have that when MoAnna was hyper! She scooted around to the other side of the tree where he was. " Whatcha doin? Do you like music?" She asked pointing to her headset.
She was startled by someone talking to her from somewhere else. As she looked up on a nearby bench, someone was asking her what she was listening to. While she waited for the other boys answer, she decided to answer him. "Umm..what am I not. " She said with a grin. " Right now its Godsmack, next could be anywhere from Pink to Disturbed, from Fall out Boy to Marilyn Manson, or... I think it is Twiztid.. Yep..definitely Twiztid. Bitch Im Sexy." She said laughing at the name even though she knew every word to the song. Saying it out loud was just hilarious. She turned back to Derek, but did a double take, "Your name is? I almost forgot to ask..Silly me.."

"Eh?" Derek looked at the girl and laughed as she told the other person what she was listening to and such. " Derek Lawrence." He replied shaking her hand only briefly before sighing and sitting up straighter. " Music? Who doesn't like it?" He asked casually stuffing his hands into his pockets and watching the clouds. " It's everywhere afterall." The young man added with a shrug. His dark eyes fell upon the other person who had joined him. He was almost certain that guy also heard his name. If not it was probably another case where Derek had mumbled his answer.
Heaving a sigh, maybe of boredom, maybe of comfort from the place he sat...who knew, Derek ran a hand through his hair and rested said hand on the back of his neck to scratch it half-heartedly.

MoAnna looked back when Derek laughed. Well! She got a reaction! She grinned widely. "Who ever doesnt like music is bound to a life of misery." She said nodding. Her grin stayed planted on her face. " Its in elevators, and grocery stores, and cars, and houses, and cd players, and mp3 players, and kids blasting it loudly." She went on happily as she listed it off. Music was something she knew about, and she could talk about different songs and different artists all day. She loved to contemplate the meanings behind some songs, or just bask in the good beat and overall tune a song could provide. "So..either of you read?" She asked, raising the book up and waving it around a bit.
As she did so, Red Hot Chili Peppers "Tell Me Baby" came over the headset. It was the only song by them she really knew, but she loved it. Her head bobbed lightly to the tune. Her eyes shifted to both Derek, and the boy that she had yet to learn the name of. She had started out the day alone, and now.. she was sitting next to two hot guys. Wow.. Her luck was getting better and better.. She grinned at the thought, but dared not voice them. " So....what do you guys do? Power wise I mean.."

Kamon responded to MoAnna's music tastes after every band name. "Pink..." he muttered unenthusiastically. "...Disturbed!" he said with much enthusiasm. "Fall out Boy..." he muttered again. "Marilyn Manson! Twiztid! 60% good choices. I take it you like music...?" he added sarcastically, more for casualness than to make a good joke. It was a pretty bad joke anyways. He took a breath to say his name, and then Derek began to talk. Kamon, being polite, let him. When he was done, he took another breath and MoAnna began to talk again. When she finally asked about reading, he automatically said "Eoin Colfer and Stephen King," happy to finally get a word in edgewise. She started bobbing her head, and then her eyes shifted from him to Derek. He finally offered his name. "I'm Kamon."
" So....what do you guys do? Power wise I mean.."
Kamon was pleased by this, and pointed his index finger, thumb, and middle finger at the ground. In the other hand, he pointed his index finger and middle finger at the ground. Bolts of electricity went from each finger and entered the ground. In a cement section of the park, in front of the little group, they shot out of the ground. Each bolt made a little constantly moving circle in the air over the cement area, each circle effectively making a line, spelling out "Hi". "Powers? I'm telepathic."

"Read? Not my bag really. I read what is needed for class. That's about it." Derek shrugged. His dark eyes watched Kamon perform his powers and nodded his head. " I can convert on form of energy into another." He said in a rather unimpressed manor. To tell the truth he wasn't really up to showing that off. However, if they pressured him into it, Derek might. " I can absorb kenetic energy and use it to produce heat or prehaps convert it to electrical energy and power a light bulb or something." He explained further, incase they hadn't understood him before.

"Well I am glad you like some of the music I do!" She put a hand in front of her face self consciously as she laughed. " I love music. I find inspiration in all songs. Rock, Pop...but not country.." She muttered with a look of distaste.
MoAnna laughed out loud at that Kamon's use of his powers. "Hi.. Cute!" She said with a giggle. She looked back at Derek. "Ohh.. that is a very scientific power. You must be good in Chemistry and such since it seems to be an every day thing." She said, noticing that she had thought that about herself in her science class. She shrugged and tucked the book back in her pocket. " I read some Stephen King books myself, Kamon, but I am an avid reader of Dean Koontz. His suspense captures my interest more." She explained, her hands now free to wave around carelessly in expression of her words.
She looked down for a second. She wanted to show them her powers, but it was slightly impossible. She shrugged. "Hey Derek, can I see your power?" She asked, throwing her hands around her waist and rocking back just a little. She stood up so she could talk to both of them at the same time without throwing out her neck. Her light grey shirt split at the shoulders and the sleeves slung down toward the middle of her arm, so her arms could move easily. She turned down her music as she did this, but left one earphone in.

Kamon smiled. "Pop rarely works for me, but in some cases, it does. And when it does, it freaking DOES." Kamon listened to Derek's description as he set his bass down by his feet. "So...if I shot a bolt of electricity at you, you could absorb it and change it into...I don't know...body energy?" Kamon aksed curiously, charging his hand with slightly visible and audible electricity. "And then you could run a marathon?" Kamon rested his other hand on the bass. Ooh, he was proud of the instrument. He had earned the money to buy it, and he bought it, and it was his. Possesions were nice things to have. "Dean Koontz? I'll remember to check him out."
He let both of them talk for a bit. He thought about how cool it was that he had just gone to the park for some peace and quiet to listen to his metal music, and he had made some friends. MoAnna and Derek were pretty cool. He wondered what MoAnna's power was, though...maybe after Derek's demonstration he would ask. After all, it was probably something cool. He looked at her, and tried to predict. Nothing mental, probably all physical. Well, that was stupid, very few powers were mental at all. Hm...maybe body alteration? Being less general, transformation? He would wait and see. He leaned back against the tree, hoping Derek would demonstrate at all.

" Yeah. Basically I would absorb it and transfere it to kenetic energy and direct it to my feet then run at least twice my normal speed depending on how much electricity you put into me." Derek said, standing and brushing himself off/ He sighed and there seemed to be no change in the air around him. However he was absorbing the thermal energy of the sun.
" Science? Heh, no. I don't really care for it at all, to tell the truth. Just because it is related to my powers means absolutely nothing, Deary." The young man said rather calmly as he tapped his foot. " By the way I am in the process of absorbing thermal energy from the sun." Added the young man as he crossed his arms over his chest. Derek seemed bored with the wait but stood their silent for a second or so.
" Music? I don't really care for genre's they mean nothing to me. I listen to whatever is on." The young man said with that same bored expression on his face. His eyes widened and showed slight signs of a smile. " Ah! That should be enough..." He muttered. " Now, Kenetic would be too bland. I'll do electrical to show how much thermal I just absorbed." He cleared his throat, and held the palm of his hand out towardst he sky before him.
" Ready?" He asked. The crackle of electricty was heard and miniature lightening bolts snapped between his fingers and formed an orb which he closed his hand around and absorbed to switch to kenetic and again showed his hand. This time his fingers were moving up and down rather fast to the point they were mere blurs. They slowed to a normal speed and he nodded his head.
" There you go." He said with a shrug.

MoAnna watched the shows with a wicked fascination. "Oh that is so cool! You two seem to have a really good control over your powers!" She said almost jealously. " Me..not so much so." She said simply and was going to leave it at that. She looked up toward the sky, which in the interum had begun to darken slowly as the day went on. She had wanted to show them her powers, but maybe not right now? She was afraid it would make them..she didnt know..scared of her? She really didnt look normal in her other state. She turned off her music and hurriedly shoved the headphones into her pocket. "Well..It was nice meeting you both!" She said with a wave, and went to step away. Right as her foot hit the ground, the sun dipped over the edge of the horizon. "When the hell did it get so late?" She asked angrily. God must be playing a trick on me.. ((Nope that would be me. hehe))
She felt the change more than saw it. She knew, however what they must be seeing. Her body as a horse was able to dissapate, so in the process of changing that is what her body did. It showed as a dark mist that formed into the shape of a monstrous horse. Her eyes glowed white, and she towered over most people in that form. Her hoofs maintained a sort of mist-like shape, so no matter where she went the ground never hurt her un-shoed hoofs.
She pawed at the ground, but of course her hoofs didnt touch. She huffed, sending out a great breath in the direction opposite of the two guys and flung her mane back. She turned her head back to them with a rather sad look. She couldnt communicate physically in this form, but she could get her point across by emotions and movements. She bowed her head as if in shame and pranced around a little bit nervously, as a "Well? Arent you going to scream and run like so many before you?"
As a horse she was quite menacing, that much she knew, and she looked like no other ordinary horse. She was for one, grey and black. She stood a good three hands taller than any other horse, and the muscles that bunched up as she moved only hinted at the strength she held. She couldnt use them though, for anything other than running, and the occasional attack if she had to to protect herself, but most people just assumed she meant harm. She had been referred to as "The Devil's Steed".

Kamon didn't gape. He was used to the odd, but it didn't stop the odd from usually sending a jolt down his spine. Instinct told him to fall over and play dead so the "horse" wouldn't bother, but his polite mind told him to stay, at least long enough to make sure she wasn't beserk or evil in this form, as it were. His hands gripped his bass tightly. He had worked hard for that, and he wasn't going to let a gifted horse get rid of it. He knew, he knew, innocent until proven guilty, but he was just taking precautions. His mind raced. Were the police "just taking precautions" when they interrogate every suspect as though they're the criminal? There must be some exceptions. Where is the line?
His mind snapped back to normal when his eyes landed on the horse once more, as opposed to through the horse. "Ah," he began to ask, his voice flucuating. Obviously, his instincts didn't believe a word his brain was telling them. His brain rolled its proverbial eyes. He cleared his throat. "You don't go beserk when you're the...ah...horse, are you?" His grip loosened a bit, and he took a breath for the first time in a while. Stupid lungs...
