History: Born into a well-off family, Brendan grew up relatively happy, and, despite his parent's lack of attention, with great morals. He broke up many fights and made many friends in his childhood. This changed when he got his power, when he was around 10 years old. He started seeing into people, past their clothes, skin, and bone, and into their organs.
This happened sometimes, and disturbed him greatly. His parents, seeing Brendan come home and hide under his covers or under the bed, in closets, in pillow forts, and sob violently, sent him to a psychiatrist. Brendan confessed the whole truth, and, the psychiatrist being gifted too, helped him out by making weekly sessions for treatment, as well as training. He soon unlocked more to his power, and by the age of 15, had most control over it.
The war on the gifteds started, and although Cassis felt the most of the attack, it was still felt throughout the country. Brendan's town started a humongous anti-gifted force, with his parents included. He went to his psychiatrist one day and found him gone. He looked all over the town and found him lynched on a tree. They would find out Brendan had powers, and then lynch him too. What was he to do? He ran. He took his bike, some clothes, and went very far away.
He lived in a different town, working in a motel to have a bed each night. He eventually saved up enough money to go to college, and despite his lack of a high-school diploma, got in, seeing as how the dean was a gifted man as well. He majored in biology. After he got his degree, He heard about Dotado from an underground gifted organization. He decided to go there, and spent the next few years there.
Some people who represented the builders and owners of the school that was going to be made in Dotado put up ads around town for teachers. Brendan applied for a job as a biology teacher, and got it, working with Ven.
Powers: Brendan can look into people's bodies. He can look past clothes and skin, and lead, and metal, to understand what is going on in their bodies. He is now somewhat immune to being grossed out after seeing the digestive system at work. He can do it at will, and sometimes it happens on its own. As an offshoot of his power, upon touching someone, he can alter their insides. He can't kill anyone at the snap of a finger, but he can upset their stomach to a high degree, arrest breath/heartbeat (which may or may not result in death, depending on the medical attention), give them charlie's horses, or knock them out. He can not alter bone, although he can see it.
Personality: Brendan has strong moral beliefs, and is kind, even to perfect strangers. Despite his past, he does not hold any grudges against humanity, like some gifteds would in his situation. His problem falls more with the government. Also, he has a bitingly sarcastic side, and although he will say mean remarks without hesitation, he immediately follows it with a smiling face and laugh to show his lack or actual seriousness.
Power Related Issues: Although mostly immune to seeing people's insides, certain inner bodily functions/states can seriously sicken him. For example, when he saw a cycle smoker hanging out with an overweight heroin addict, the combination of blackened lungs, swollen and disfigured veins, overall bad hygiene and layers upon layers of fat, he fainted and went into a coma for 18 hours. Also, doing major body alterations can mess his body up too. If he were to cause someone's heart to palpatate, his chest would ache, varying on how big the palpatation.
Weaknesses: His power isn't fully combat-oriented, and can often come out as bad news for him. He was a regular at his hometown's hospital for series' of fainting, infected cuts(from amazed distraction and then falling off of/walking into things) and overall illness. He is allergic to peanuts, and recently taken pills in action make him extremely unconfortable.
