A young woman, most likely no older than 17 was wearing a rather expensive looking dress, pressed against her beneath a thick, large winter coat which clashed terribly against the dress. Her dresses was wrinkled up in various places, leaving large creases in the sky blue satin, which she hated.
Her long shoulder length blond hair flicked nervously from side to side along with her head as she looked around before stepping into an alleyway, avoiding most eyes, not that anyone was looking for her.
"Whoever chose to have prom in the winter was an ***hole." She muttered under breath to herself, as she approached a half open dumpster pulling a slim bundle out from inside her jacket. The one blanket wrapped around a small new born seemed much more like a white towel, as she had left hospital no more than three hours ago, taking whatever she could as she left to put the baby in.
The babies face was calm, both eyes closed, his thin mouth slightly agape in his sleep. taking one last brief look around she placed the baby, bundle and all into the open half of the dumpster, resting it on top of the few slightly soggy, flattened out cardboard boxes. Her head flicked around again, her perfectly groomed hair flowing with as she constantly made sure no eyes had fallen upon her. She leaned in briefly over the baby looking at him once more before withdrawing a napkin with a note scrawled on it.
"His name's Elliot, take him." Was all this the paper said. She found it strange that she had named him, though not surprising, it seemed the maternal thing to do.
She peeled the coat of her body now that the baby and note where both safely removed. Her dress hadn't been wrinkled to badly, the sky blue satin still nicely in place, the single strap flowing over her right should where it rejoined the rest of her dress at the small of her back. She was exceptionally beautiful, her face also rather innocent.
"All right if anyone asks, I broke the heel of my shoe, and feel." She told herself making an excuse for herself.
She stepped out of the alley, seating herself on the steps of an old brick building, really wishing she hadn't ditched her coat. Suddenly a nice, new looking Mustang rolled up in front of her slowing to a stop, the engine still running. The convertible top eased back a large muscular figure rising up out of the drivers seat, a thick head of brown hair seated atop a square jawed handsome face.
His large brown eyes scanned the scene before him momentarily until he spotted the girl.
"You ready Ariel?!" He shouted to her, his tux shifting upward as his hand went to his mouth to amplify his words.
She sat up quickly, shoving thoughts of the baby out of her head, as she jogged towards him. Plastering a false grin across her face, her eyes becoming slightly foggy, and attempt to make herself look sexy, which by the guys reaction seemed to have worked
"Course babe." She said opening up the door, and seating herself, smoothing out her dress over and under her lap as she sat.
"What happened to your dress?......" He asked casually gesturing to the wrinkles as they sped away.
The baby sat, asleep and cold in the dumpster. All night he lay there, his body slowly weakening from the frigid air around him. His limbs began to turn a light purple shade within the thin blanket, frostbit and hypothermia both setting like rabid dogs on his miniscule form.
He woke up the next day, his newly developed mind not grasping what was happening until he felt cold, alone, and motherless. He began to cry as loud as his small lungs would let him, which was wasn't very loud, nor very long, the bustle of the outside streets easily over powering hit weak whining.
A man walked by his coarse brown hair still wet from a late and hurried shower, and his beard fading from mere five'o'clock shadow to full on woolly brush.
A delivery boy on a bike came hurtiling towards him, flying, his legs bouncing on the pedals, and body held about the handle bars.
"Look out dude!" he yelled ahead, less then a minute away from impact.
The man looked at him in a surprised manner, his long brown trench coat flaring out around his body as he flung himself out of the way, with a loud grunt, his suit case leaving his hand and skidding to the dumpster.
He gathered his barrings and walked hurridly towards the trash recipticle, snatching up his brief case and striding away before the sound of crying weasled it's way into his ears. his hed turned around, followed by his torso, and eventually his legs, as he walked blindly through morning sunshine, trying to find it's source.
he soon came back to the dumpster where he found the semi-concious baby, picking him cradling him in his arms, and snatching up the note reading it quickly, before dropping it and focusing on the baby.
"Well Elliot." He said smiling.
"Welcome to the family." he said putting the boy inside his trench coat to warm hin, the boy's body snuggled up against a white lab coat beneath the trench with an emblem of a globe surrounded by a ring of ivy around it, the words: "GREENWAY INDUSTRIES" emblazened beneath the picture.
