Aftermath: Healing, Physically and Mentally

A small child nestled in a womans arms opend the door to their house. A small smile appeared on her face as she knew that she would finally be able to take cqre of her family. The battle at the old cassis school had turned out grimly for the opponets but didn't spare her family any injuries or mental handicaps. Michella looked down at the child in her arms. She had finally fell asleep and for once she was glad that Erin was asleep. The scratches on her back needed tending to and the abrasions on her face painted her complextion. Michella felt a frown appear on her face knowing that what happened at the school could have been alot worse off.

"Jason? I'm going to take her to her room, I'll be back in a few minutes... Kamon... watch after Eric for a few minutes okay?" She asked taking the child toward the room. Erin stirred suddenly as she felt the presents of being laid down.

"Mommy?" She asked rubbing her eye's and looking at her mother. "Where is eric and daddy? what about Kamon.. is everyone okay?"

Michella nodded to her as she kissed the child on her forehead and cupped her chin in Michella's hand.

"Everyone is alright. Daddy got hurt trying to protect mommy and you, so Mommy is going to have to go give daddy some medicine in a few minutes. I'm going to take care of you first!" She said and went to the bathroom that was inbetween the kids' rooms and looked in the closet. She grabbed a roll of guaze and some antiseptic and walked back into the room. "Erin... can I see your back?" She asked as the child laied down on her stomache and Michella pulled her shirt down to see the scratch on the bottom of her neck.

"Does it look that bad mommy?" The child asked as she flinched when the gauze touched her back.

"No... just a scratch... your pretty brave you know... Your brother is going to be in here in a few minutes I bet. He's got a story to tell you!" She said referring to the battle where Eric had won with Kamon. She smiled slightly as the child cried out slightly to the touch of the antiseptic.

"I'm sorry baby.... I gotta get it cleaned... I don't want it to get sore!"

"But... it's sore now... " She retorted to Michella. A tear fell from the childs eye as Michella placed another peice of gauze on her back and placed teh medical tape around it to keep the wound covered so it would heal.

"I know Erin.. i'm done now, but let me see your face..." She asked and Erin sat up looking at Michella, tears stained her face. "Aww... it's not that bad."

Michella touched her face with the gauze that had the antiseptic ointment on it and then finished with a bandage. "There... all better!"

Erin gave a small frown as she jumped into her mothers arms, tears fell freely from her eye's. "I was scared mommy... the wolf... I thought he was going to hurt me badder... but then daddy saved me... "

Michella nodded to Erin and hugged her until the tears stopped and she laid Erin back down on the bed giving her a stuffed animal. "Well, Mommy's going to go take care of Daddy... okay? Eric will be in here in a minute.. do you want to see Kamon too?" She asked hoping the child would start to become talkative to the new family member. Erin nodded to Michella when she left the room.

Michella looked at her husband, Kamon and eric. "How's everyone doing? Erins good. I patched her up, but Hey Eric... why don't you go tell your sister about your fight?" Michella encouraged the boy. "Kamon... she want's to see you too!"

Jason stumbled in, still holding his chest, his arms wrapped tightly as if to keep the bones together some how. He leaned against the doorframe.

Dont breath so shallowly, you will hyperventilate. But what if I breath in too deeply? The pain will make me pass out that is for sure. Lose/ lose situation damnit.

Jason felt a tap on the back, his head turned, creaking as if he needed to have his joints oiled. Eric's small face looked at him with a sad and scared expression. He had never seen his daddy so hurt. He took ahold of Jason's hand and turned into a cane. " Here you go Daddy." The words resounded in Jason's head. The thing about Eric was, he could speak individually to people, or if he expended more power, he could seem to talk out loud and all could hear him. Jason smiled, and used the cane to make it back to his and Michella's room. As he passed by the door he heard Michella and Erin talking. "My brave girls.." He whispered. He looked down. "My brave boy." The cane heated up, as if Eric was blushing. He reveled in his fathers praise.

As Jason sat on the bed, Eric turned back into his regular form. Jason patted his head. "Go with Kamon and visit your sister, she would like to see you that much I know." Eric nodded and headed out the door. Jason lay back on the bed, slowly and painfully, gasping with every minute movement until he was laying fully on the bed. He let blissful unconsciousness take over and dull the pain.

Eric came out of the room in a dead run. "Kamon! Lets go see-" He started, when his mom came out of the his and Erin's room. "Aww you said it first!" He huffed as if she stole his idea. He smiled any way and grabbed Kamon's hand. "Let's go!" He took off to his room to see Erin.

Despite all of his eagerness, he came in at a silent and slow pace. "Erin? Hey! You awake? Geez, you look awful." He said in a blunt manner. He smiled though, which made the insult into a slight brotherly jest. " Mom told me to tell you about the fight, which I was going to do anyway, because Dad suggested it too, but I was originally gonna do it, cause it was soooo cool! Kamon fought soo awesomely, and I got to be in it too!" He began rambling on in such a fast tone that it was almost too hard to understand his words. "Come on Kamon, show her some of the moves! Just..no electricity this time or Mom will be mad!"

Kamon smiled halfheartedly at the situation. He had mostly told himself that the family was okay. They evidently weren't. Michella had patched up Erin, and Jason needed an Eric-cane to get inside. Not a happy welcome home Kamon would've expected or needed after all these years, but it was something, at least. He stretched as he entered. He'd need to earn some sort of keep to stay here. Jason wouldn't enforce any kind of rent, but Kamon felt it had to be done. He'd get a part time job somewhere or another. He'd deal with that later.

Eric called Kamon in to see Erin. Kamon would've liked a few minutes to relax at this point, after the long trip to old Cassis, the fight, and the travel back home and such, but he didn't complain. That could wait. His pseudo-sister wanted to see him and his pseudo-brother. Eric was blunt but joking, and Kamon chalked it up to his age.

"Um..." said Kamon when asked to demonstrate his battle maneuvers. "I just sorta...kicked him...and then attacked him...with a sword...and then shocked him. Not really many maneuvers..." Kamon felt a little awkward explaining battle maneuvers in front of a 10-year-old.

Michella watched intently as Kamon and Eric went to see Erin and noticed that Jason wasn't anywhere to be seen. Where was he? Figuring the situation, she headed straight for the bedroom. She looked in the doorway seeing Jason laying on the bed. He looked so pitiful just laying there, knowing he was hurting. My big strong, brave, husband. I was so lucky to have married you. I'm sorry that the situation wasn't any better. I really wish you hadn't got hurt, but because you did, our daughter's life is saved. I'm just lucky that Kamon was there too, to help out. She moved slowly back out of the doorway and into the closet grabbing a bottle of medicine, then back into their room.

"Jason, honey? You awake?" She asked as she laid the bottle down on the bedside table and got into the bed beside of Jason trying to make as little movement as possible knowing that if the movment would create more pain, she'd feel even worse. "Jason..." She said as she laid beside him comfortably, looking at his body. "I'm so sorry, babe... I really wish that you weren't hurt." HEr words were in whispers, as she brought her face near Jason's chest, hearing his heartbeat, as a tear fell from her eye's. She hated to see him like this.

Erin watched as Eric came in and tried to hide the bandage on her face by placing her hand on that spot. She gave a grin as she flinched slightly. "Well, thanks 'little' brother... nice to see you too. Did you see that wolf? Daddy sure did take him out awfully quickly. Daddy is so brave. He saved me!" She said trying to make it sound like a huge deal to her to overcome her brothers words. "That's cool... Well, while you were having fun beating that scary creature... I was being saved... so, ha ha!" She said reaching back to her neck to touch the bandage. "I got a scratch from my battle, did you get anything from it?" Looking over she smiled to her new 'big brother'. "Kamon, I bet you were awsome! You had to have been cause you beat that wolf... with little help from Eric!" The last word was highly sarcastic.

Jason woke up slightly, the pain making his vision blurry, a constant flickering darkness lingered in the back of his mind. He turned his head ever so slightly, relying mostly on his eyes. Michella had her head on his chest and all he could think was, Thank God. Thank you God for letting me keep both of the girls that are so dear to my heart. Thank you for not making me choose what peice of my heart would break. I fear that if I lost either of them, I think I wouldnt make it myself. A hand steadily crept toward Michella. "My Missy. I would die to keep you safe. Do not be sorry, just be here. Where I can..." He stopped, the pain causing him to focus on just breathing. Once he could again, his voice came slower and softer. " Just be here..where.. I can .. touch your beautiful face..hear..your beautiful sweet voice.." His hand carressed her cheek, brushing away the tear. " My wife.. My love.. Dont you see that nothing means more to me than you? Than our children?"


" You couldnt even defend yourself!! You just laid there crying! How can you boast about that? I got to go into a wolf's throat as a sword, there is nothing cooler!" Eric yelled after watching Kamon's doubtful explaination of his fight. " You should have been there Erin! Kamon was all- Bamm! And KAPOW! And and.. Then he was all, cool and stuff! And I was right there in the action!"

"Hey..." said Kamon. Eric was yelling at Erin. He hoped this was normal sibling rivalry, but Eric didn't seem to be really joking around. "Eric, I'm sure Erin didn't do much because she got hurt. The shock would have you cowering, I'm sure. " Kamon layered the last part with sarcasm, and followed it with a laugh. Merely trying to defend Erin, he was.

"Well, less of the kapow and more of a shing, but yeah, you have the basic idea." Kamon smiled. "Then it was a shhhck--" Kamon pantomimed the sword into the wolf's mouth--"and then BZZZT!" Kamon emphasised the BZZZT with a zap of his own, merely coursing through his arm as opposed to all over the floor, where it would surely leave scorch marks that Kamon didn't want to clean. "And then the wolf wasn't too confident, right Eric?"

"So, Erin, what happened to you in the battle?" asked Kamon, hoping to include her more and make her a little less shy. He thought she was improving. "Other than getting hurt, I mean. I couldn't see what was happening because of the wolf. A snapping, snarling, canine ball of fur tends to keep you concentrating on it and not much else." Kamon sat himself down on a chair in the room. It was a little (actually, a lot) too small for him, but he managed to get a little comfortable.

Michella looked up at Jason feeling the touch of his hand on her. She never thought that something so little as the touch of his flesh on her body would mean so much. She looked at him with her eye's wanting nothing more than to just stare at him, but the look on his face with pain tearing at her heart, made Michella sit up to make sure she wasn't creating any of the pain that he was experiencing at that moment. "Jason... I know you would keep me safe, but you do know.... if anything was to happen like that again... when I saw your face when Erin was attacked and you went to help her, but then you looked back and the other wolf... just promise me that you will always protect the children...." Michella knew that what she was saying was true, and if he had said what she just did, she knew that the pain would be there but the choise would be only just slightly easier to make. "Jason... I brought some asprin... I want you to take some... it will help with the pain!" She moved from the bed and reached over grabbing the bottle and getting back on the bed next to her husband, but a noise in the other room alerted Mcihella to the kids. "Seems like the kids are having fun with Kamon, I beleive...." She smiled slighlty as she ran a hand through Jason's hair and rubbed the side of his cheek. "I'm proud of you Jason..." She said as she leaned down, kissing him on the lips.

Erin's eyes locked onto her brothers hearing him yell at her. How could she say anything about it? She was knocked over by the wolf, mauled and was too afraid to move. What more could she do? Erin looked over at Kamon with tears in her eye's as she dropped her head to her brothers accusations. "Well... killing isn't always.... a good thing.... Eric... You know that. Mommy and Daddy are going to talk to you about that... cause... cause..." She couldn't think of anything else to say, but the words still held still inher head.
You just laid there crying! How can you boast about that?

Erin looked over at Kamon after hearing him defend her from her brother. Fights like this was common, but he never seemed so sincere before. Erin could only imagine what was going on though the words that Kamon and Eric was using to describe the fight that they encountered with the wolf. As they were describing it, she could see the wolf in her mind that knocked her down. That fought with their father. A tear fell from her eye's as she replayed the memory in her head. Fear engulfed her thoughts, forcefully.

The wolf... and I fell. HOW COULD I DEFEND MYSELF... THAT WOULD COULD HAVE HURT ME EVEN WORSE. IT COULD HAVE KILLED ME ERIC... YOU YELLED AT ME... wHY? I fell... and pain burned my back... my face hurt... screaming... howling... yelling... ERIC! Erin's thoughts played out the memory in visualizations and audible tones in her ears. The whole situation was brought back and Erin felt herself yelling in her mind. Her eye's wasn't even looking at Kamon when he was finishing the sentence. Erin was in a trance of some sort. Another part of her powers started to take place.

"WHY DID I YELL? Because you made fun of my experiences, and I was just trying to show you how the fight went and I was proud of my acco--- acoompli.. Darn it! And you made fun of it like what you did was the greatest! Now stop yelling!!" Eric grabbed his head as the fear ripped through his mind. He could almost feel the painful burning of the tears in skin on his back, the smell, the feel of the wolf, the weight crushing down.. ERIIIIIIIIIIIN He screamed in his mind, trying to force back that feeling into his own head. He rushed forward and hugged his sister. He shook his head back and forth, "Dont do that again..please dont do that again.."



Jason looked down at Michella. " I knew that was how you would feel. But please do not dwell so on how hard it was on me, as I love you both very much. To lose either of you would be to lose myself.." He stroked her hair, letting the pain rip through his chest just to reassure his wife. " I did choose our daughter, but only if I was sure that you were safe..Just thank God that Kamon was there.." Jason paused. "Where is Kamon? I want to talk to him."

Kamon looked around after he added his question. Erin started to describe it, and then trailed off. The room got a lot more tense, as Erin sat in a trance and Eric squirming. Kamon, agitated, switched his gaze between the twins. What was going on? It was probably Kamon's fault, seeing as how Erin got scared soon after Kamon had asked her about the fight. He realized that certain children, especially ones suffering from recent trauma, might be a little sensitive. Kamon had really screwed it up. He glared at himself inwardly.

But for now, he felt as though he couldn't do a thing, that even if he tried, Erin and Eric would still be "influencing" each other. Also, Kamon thought it best not to interfere. If he got in the way of their little telepathic interlude, then it might spread to him, and if it's enough to make someone squirm, it might be enough to kill him. Kamon stayed back with his mouth gaping at the situation. Here he was, not able to do anything while his pseudo-siblings were being hurt.

When they stopped and Eric said something tiredly, Kamon sat back down in his chair and let out a breath. He realized that he had been holding his breath for a good period of time. "Well...do you...what...can...would you like to explain what in the world just happened?" Kamon might need Jason and Michella's help. After all, Erin and Eric were their children. They would most definitely know what to do next. He glanced at the door, almost hoping to see them come in at this extremely opportune moment.

Erin looked up a moment later after the telepathic message was sent to Eric in a horrific memory. Almost tired, she let herself slump down slightly as she heard the scream in her head of her name. Had he just used the same power she just used? Tears formed in her eye's again as Eric came up and hugged her, she looked almost dumbfounded to see and feel her brother hugging her. After all the times that he was always being a 'brother', this was the one time, when he actually showed that he cared or her. She immediatly wrapped her arms around Eric as she let the tears come down.

"Eric.. what just happened? I don't understand it?" She paused a moment and looked over at Kamon. "I feel so tired..."

True when her powers were used, she created alot of memories and telepathically sent them to Eric causing a energy drain from her mind, making her feel tired. A power so great and in the hands of a ten year old girl. What was the family in for, when they find out that Eric has the same ability?


Michella looked over at Jason, seeing him hurting, she grabbed the pain medicine she got for him and offered him the bottle to help with the pain. "I know baby... I just want you to get better." She said kissing him on the cheek letting her face rest against his. "Kamon came at a good time... I'm glad that everyone is okay. I'm going to go check on Erin and see what's going on in there. I'll send Kamon your way!" She said as she got up from the bed gently and moved out the door.

Immediatly as she reached the kids room, she heard slight yelling and talking. Something wasn't right. When she walked in the door she saw that Eric was hugging his sister. How did that come about. She looked over at Kamon and gave him a 'What's going on?' look. "Kamon... Jason want's to talk to you..." She paused a moment as she checked on the twins as Eric looked her way.

"Momma... something just happened... I don't know what.. but I'm so tired..." She said out, her eye's showing exhaustion. That made Michella really worry.

"What do you mean? Eric What happened to your sister?" She looked at Eric like he'd done something to her, which was a normal thing seeing as he always seemed to pick on his sister.

Jason watched Michella leave the room, and hated to be the one left out of everything. So he was hurt, big deal.. He knew that there was a fast way for him to fix the bones, and would see about that later.. It should be just a matter of changing into something with malleable bones and going from there.. he had done it on minor breaks, not ones as major as this, so it would be a trial and error thing..

He slowly slung his legs over the bed, and was pleased to find that the pain medication was already taking effect on his bruised midsection. He pushed himself off of the bed and slowly wandered toward the room, seeing Michella still standing in the doorway. Curious, he moved over to her, and saw.. well.. This was a first.. Eric hugging Erin? Jason knew that Eric loved his sister, but he never showed it, especially not to said sister.. His voice came out wearily behind Michella. "Yes, may I ask exactly what is going on?"

Eric shook his head, wiping away his tears as he fell back in a slump. He was tired too. His arms came up, wiping the tears with the backs of his arms. He looked over at his parents with a confused face. " I heard her, but I dont think Bro did.." He looked over at Kamon for confirmation. "I dont know why, but I felt so scared.." He looked back at Erin. "I think she did it." He pointed to her while looking over his extended arm at his parents. " It wasnt me, I didnt do anything, I promise!"

"Michella!" Kamon had said in relief as she entered. She would help. After all, Erin and Eric were her children. She'd know what to do much more than Kamon would. Kamon was new on the job, and Michella was a veteran for 10 years. Kamon sighed with relief. "They were all...I dunno...telepathic and stuff. Erin was in a trance...and Eric...was kind of...Hey, there's Jason!" Kamon sighed again. Double the assistance. "Erin was influencing Eric, I guess...and then Eric influenced her...I don't know how or why or what." Heh...I do know who and where and when, though. Ha.

Kamon nodded. "I didn't hear a thing...but it's obvious that they both did...probably traumatizing..." Kamon added the last bit quieter and more to himself. He decided to back off and let Jason handle things, and then decided to go comfort Eric and Erin. They were already somewhat close together, so he went behind them and gave them a gentle hug. Hopefully it would help them calm down and get what just happened out of their minds. He hoped they wouldn't resent the hug. He would let go any time Jason or Michella decided to go in for one of their own.

Michella watched carefully waiting for any sigh of an answer to her question, but jumped slightly to the sound of Jason behind her. She turned around quickly to her husband. "What are you doing out of bed? Your hurt.. you need to lay down! Honestly..." She said to him wrapping her arms around his waist, placing a hand on his chest gingerly. "Well, since your already here. I think we have a problem... I think?" She said to Jason then looked at Eric as he spoke.

I heard her... don't think bro did. Michella looked to Jason. "What does that mean?" She asked. It was familiar to hear about telepathy between people, but maybe being twins, the power was always there, but just the aftermath of the battle has set the power into play? Moving away from Jason, Michella walked over to the bed, sitting down on it. Immediatly, Erin moved close to her and Michella picked her up letting her sit on her lap and her head lay carelessly on her shoulder.

"I... I'm tired, mommy. I want to sleep!" She said to Michella as she ran her fingers across the childs cheek. "Eric... screamed my name.. and I heard it in my head. It felt bad... it kinda hurt, but it was like he was sad or something..." She told her Mother.

"I beleive you Eric.. I beleive you..." Michella said as she put her arm out to her son to cuddle up next to her. She glanced in Jason's direction then at Kamon's. "Kamon... I don't know, but with just a hunch, maybe they have gotten a new power? I mean.. the bond between them.. Wouldn't it be obvious that they develope a power simliar to this?

*gingerly starts picking up Marr's marbles to put back in container..even if I get them all..some will still be missing*

Eric leaned into Kamon, letting him comfort him. "I dunno what it was, but I hurt in my head! I felt all afraid and scared-d-d.." A shaking sob made him stutter the last word as he buried his head into Kamon's embrace. "I dont want that to happen again.." I dont I dont I dont! He said inside his head, unthinkly projecting it to Erin.

Jason shook his head at Michella. "No, I dont need to be in bed, I need to be here." He said firmly. He leaned himself against the door and watched Kamon try to comfort the twins. He heard all sides of the story, all coinciding with a bond between his children that they even didnt realize..obviously. They both looked hurt and tired, and more than a little scared. " I dont think it is a problem per se, just an unexpected development. All people in this particular family are gifted, and having two children share a similar facet in their powers is not uncommon, especially in twins. I find it unfortunate that they have to find it out in such a time as this, but better late than never." He said in a calm tone. He looked over at Kamon and Eric, then Michella and Erin. Would they still use this power? After such a horrifying first impression of it? It could become a useful talent if they could explore it. Jason almost expected something like this when they had such similar powers to begin with.

Eric smiled gratefully at Kamon, but moved out of his arms when Michella opened her arms to him. He ran to her and hugged her tightly. It meant a lot to him that his mom believed that he didnt do anything wrong. He looked over at Erin.

You know I have to try this out... I know your tired, I am too.. Nod your head if you can hear me?

Jason nodded. "Kamon.. Follow me? I need to talk to you." He motioned for Kamon to join, leaving Michella with the kids. He moved out slowly into the hallway and into a small room that jointed off of the kids room. This one was unoccupied, and it would be Kamon's room now.

He sat down gingerly on a chair and pointed to one he wanted Kamon to sit in. " I have a few things to discuss with you. First.. I want to thank you.. If it werent for you... " He paused and cleared his throat, but winced at the pain it caused. "If it weren't for you, Im afraid I would have lost Michella. You saved me from a grave situation, and all I can give is my gratitude.."

"Secondly, I want you to stay with us, here, this will be your room." He motioned to the room they occupied. " I think that the children, especially Eric, already love you.. Just sometimes.. I always wondered about my decision to keep them from the real world, and not just in their home and our back yard.. I wonder how many friends they could have had.. How many experiences they have missed out on. I am thinking of sending them to school.." He looked over at Kamon with a slightly pained expression. " You know.. to let them start their lives? If I do that.. Do you think you could help us..help them? Like with getting to and from school, and school work and projects and things like that? There are some things that me and Missy cannot do, and I was hoping you could help us with those areas in which we are lacking. We need someone to watch them, watch out for them.. And help them when we cannot.. "

Kamon returned both of the children's hugs. He was horrified that they were so scared. it couldn't be good for them at all, especially after today's mess. He hoped that they were okay sooner or later, both emotionally and physically. It would be a fine welcome to Michella and Jason's humble abode if the children were permanently traumatized, partially because of Kamon. He winced as he realized that he partially caused this. Nice one. I mean, really. Nice freaking job.

Eric and Erin soon left his embrace and went to Michella. Very soon after, Kamon was called into another room by Jason. "Oh, no problem. It was the least I could do. I wouldn't abandon you and your family even if I was the most cruel S.O.B. on the planet. I guess I was there because of fate." Then, of course, came Jason's second point. Kamon's mind was blown. Part of Kamon was gaping, the other extremely happy, another very shy. So, Kamon gaped, and was happy and shy. "Thank you so much. Of course I will. That is, unless I'm not imposing upon anything...I'd have to pay you back with more than fate for me to feel like I've earned a place here...again, thank you so much. I...man, you're awesome!" Kamon went and hugged Jason.

Considering Kamon's track record, today was a very huggy day.
