" No, I can't see him. I see right through whatever it is your are in or under. And yes, my dear, that would be a power." Derek said, calmly leaning himself comfortably on the tree. He was begining to feel that a nap was a rather good idea. He had a comfortable spot, and was actually fairly sleepy anyways. Prehaps he would join little Trinity in napping. It seemed like a good plan to him, it truly did.
" I can see them, Trinity. So to me, you are hiding. Do you want to hide? I can help and have plants assist you in hiding." Neasa said, sitting her self on her knees as best she could. It wasn't much of a movement and as she wasn't exactly tired like the other two seemed to be, seh would watch them sleep in silence and make sure not a soul dared to harm them.

Trinity yawned as she layed down on the teddy bear, letting him be the pillow for her. She wasn't cold so she didn't need a blanket, but she felt awkward now that she knew that she wasn't really hiding. Even though she could see what she was in, others couldn't. A true weakness to her powers is not being able to use it for hiding or concealing herself. "Yes, I want to hide... I don't want to be seen." She said to her and allowed her vision go to Derek. I think he really wants to be my friend. I feel bad thinking that he wanted to take me back to the mean foster parents. I will make him a pillow to lay on! She looked over at him and she thought of a pillow that was think and fluffy. As it appeared infront of her, she tossed it over to Derek. "I made you a pillow... I know you can't see it, but it's really fluffy and it's soft!" She told him as she looked over at Neasa. "Thank you Nee-asa." Another yawn escaped the little girls lips as she saw that the setting sun had made the sky turn barely orange, the start of the ending day. "I have a power... do you have a power Derek? If you have a power is it like mine... or am i the only one?"

" I have a power." Derek said as he felt the pillow and laid himself out on the ground comfortably. " It isn't like yours. Anyone who has a power generally is the only one with that power. So...you're special." His voice seemed heavy with sleep as he stretched out and watched the sky from beneath the tree.
Neasa smiled as she looked upon the small girl. Kneeling, she touched a gentle hand to the grass around the small shelter and watched as plants grew up the sides and covered it, giving the girl a more secretive place to sleep. If Trinity was to shiver, Neasa would have her plants become like a blanket as well. The green-skinned kayen settled herself on the ground as if she had nothing better to do. Tonight,s he would play guard.
Slowly, day passed to night and night began to grow into day.
(( I am so sorry that this post was so very lame. I'm just really out of it I guess. Ech. I hates it.))

"I'm special, really?" She asked with just a hint of hope in her voice. She watched as the plants covered up her 'imaginary' house, and she felt more comfortable in her house, 'knowing' that she would actually be not scene. Trinity looked over at Derek as he spoke and with a smile she closed her eye's.
Dreams interrupted the girls thoughts through the night, but never woke her up. Visions of the car wreck plagued her mind.
A faint light broke through the trees as the morning came too, and a sleepy voice spoke suddenly. "Nee-asa?" She called out momentarily, as she looked around the house she made for her. The reasoning to call out for the Keyan, was to see if what she had experienced last night was true. Many times she had dreamed of a friend, but this one seemed to real, almost to be true. "Derek? Are you still here with me?" She picked up her Teddy bear giving a huge hug wiping the sleepy from her eye's and walked out of house as she let the house decenigrate (sp? XD) as the plants fell in a pile on the ground. Instantly her eye's fell upon Derek still sleeping on the pillow she made for him and then she turned to Neasa. "It wasn't a dream. I can't beleive it. It wasn't a dream."

" A dream? Of course not. I'm real." Laughed Neasa softly. She hadn't left the two of them alone that night. Instead she had taken to regrowing the trees around the small clearing. The trees were now full of briliant green leaves, the bark a healthy brown color and moss had already begun to sprout. The ground was now a thick and lush carpet of green. It looked like a picture, as if this were some kind of sanctuary. " Did you sleep well?" Asked Neasa, holding a piece of fruit out to the child to be her breakfast.
Derek muttered, eyes half opening as he expected sun to blind him. He found himself beneath a tree that kept the sun from blinding him. " What the?" He muttered, sitting up and ruffling his hair thoughtfully. " I slept here? Eh, Gamps won't freak. Not the first time I didn't go home at night." The young man laughed and looked to Trinity and Neasa. " Mornin'." Though it was hard to hear him through the heavy yawn that overlapped the words. An apple was tossed to him and he almsot instantly sank hungry teeth into the skin. " Thanks. Hey, Trinity, you should eat that apple! It's amazing. So good. Ah! Foood." He spoke in such a hurried manor as he slowly devoured the softball sized fruit.

Trinity allowed a smile to creep on her face, showing a good morning for her considering the situation that was going on. Her young eye's looked around at the new trees that appeared in the area. She rubbed her eye's again looking over at Derek then at Neasa. "Sleep well? Mmmhh..." She let a saddened tone take her voice as she thought about the dream that plagued her mind through the night. "I.. had a bad dream, but... a good morning." She replied to the green woman and took the fruit from her hand. The smile that was on her face previously was now faded.
Trinity looked upon the fruit in her hands, and held it dearly as if she wasn't going to allow it to fall out of her hand, and brought the other hand up to it. The apple was cradled in her hands as she brought it to her lips. Her teeth closed on the apple as a small bite mark indicated the fruit was now being eaten. "Hmm..." Trinity turned her attention to the other two.
I don't want to dream of that again.. but i always do. I have friends now, and i should be happy? where do I live now? Nee-asa tells me that she can't see the things I do... so, i can't hide from anyone...and if I can't hide, then those people can find me and take me back to their home. They will not talk to me... they won't be nice to me... they won't love me like Mommy and Daddy did... A tear formed in Trinity's eye's as she put the apple down in her hand, allowing her other hand to take the tear away from her eye. "Nee-asa... Where am I going to live at? I don't want to keep running away." She asked as she kept her sight away from Derek.

" You won't have to, Trinity. If you want you can stay with me." Neasa said, sitting herself near the small child and allowing her golden flowers to absorb the sunlight and recharge her. Said flowers had a soft glow to them as they absorbed the rays of light. She looked down and helped the child brush away any tears that were coming from her eyes and then brushed the childs hair lovingly. There was no way that the kayin was going to leave the girl by herself.
" Yeah! Or you could stay with me and my grandparents. I know they won't mind at all." Derek added after devouring his apple. Derek felt a twinge of pain, and seemed to have the same idea as Neasa. Leaving the small girl alone was the worst thing to do, afterall. She didn't get enough love from her foster family, and they were mean. Why would Derek allow such a cute kid to go back to such a horrible place? He wouldn't and that was that.

Trinity looked over seeing the gleaming flowers, but couldn't let a well needed smile appear on her face just yet. "I can stay in the forest?..." She paused a moment. It wouldn't be like she would be seen out here if Neasa helped to keep her cover hidden from anyone. She would never have to worry about those people again. "...but what about Derek?" She asked as Derek spoke up and offered the same. GRandparents..? OH... His mommy and Daddy's mommy and daddy. He lives with them. I never have met ... grandparents before.I think it would be nice. But I want to live with Nee-asa too. She can see the things I can make... and she already is really nice to me. I don't want to be alone again... I just can't be...
She fought with herself mentally as she tried to think about what to do at the moment. Her small voice then answered out. "Nee-asa.. can't you come live with Derek? We can all live together in his home..?"

Derek's eyes widened. He didn't exactly know if TWO people would be allowed to move in. However if that was something that was needed then he would just have to see. He smiled however, when the small child asked about him. It let him know that the child did care about him and that was something he was glad to know. It didn't seem right to Derek, you know, being disliked by a child or anything. He would wait and see what would happen.
Neasa placed a small smile on her face as she shook her head 'no' to the childs question. " I cannot live with Derek. For he is what is called a human, as are you. I, Trinity, am not human. My mother is not a person but is the very ground we sit on. I am a kayin. Long, long, long ago some people on an island asked the planet to help them. The result was me. Anyways, the city air has car exhaust and other such things in it. Like some plants, I would get sick and probably wither, so I cannot live in Dotado city with you and Derek." Neasa said softly, explaining to the child as best she could. Her words sounded kind of thoughtful and a little sad, as if she missed where she had originated from.
" Well, What about this." Derek said, standing to stretch himself out a little. The guy had been in that spot for who knows how long. His legs had grown stiff and needed to move. " Trinity, you can live with me at my house. Then on the weekends or whenever you miss Neasa and want to see her, I'll bring you to the forest." He suggested, hands stretching out over his head in a stretch.
" Wonderful idea. You can visit me here in the forest on saturdays and sundays. That sounds fine to me, I'd be excited to see you Trinity and that would make our time together more special. What do you say?" Neasa asked, her fingers still running through the childs hair, something that seemed to happen without much thought behind it at all.

Trinity noticed Dereks reaction to her question. Was there something wrong with asking Neasa to live with him? Maybe it was a bad idea and now she was going to go by herself again? No... Trinity wouldn't have that, but she really wanted to be with both of them. They were the first people that she's been able to talk to without having them try to take her back and when Neasa shook her head 'no', trinity felt as if she wanted to run away from the situation but she sat still.
I cannot live in Dotado city with you and Derek. Brown hair fell over the girls face as she looked down at the ground in which she sat upon. "Nee-asa... I don't want to go without you. Your the only person who see's what I can. Derek cannot see my bear... he cannot see that house I made. You can. I want to live with you, but i want to sleep in a bed again... but if you really want me to live with Derek, I will. I really want to see you again!" She told Neasa with sadness in her voice, but looked to Derek with a glimpse of happiness to know that someone would actually want her. "When I come back to see you Nee-asa... can we play hide and go seek?" Trinity stood up next to Neasa, grasping her in a hug.

Neasa almost melted on the spot. The small child had officially touched the kayin and made her think that not all humans were bad. The two she had just met surely weren't the type to destroy plants for useless reasons. This Neasa now knew and was happy to hear the small child say that she was important. A surge of happiness rushed Neasa and made her want to cry tears of pure water. She hugged the child tight, almost as tight as trinity was hugging her. " Of course, my dear. You can see me whenever you miss me. Derek said he'd bring you. If you can't get to me, tell a flower or a tree or a blade of grass. I will get the message. I will come and get you if I have to." Neasa said reassuringly.
" Don't worry, Trinity. I'll bring you every friday evening and pick up up every sunday eventhing. That way you can spend at least 2 whole days with her. Maybe, in time, I'll be able to see what you and Neasa see." Derek said, smiling at the sight of Neasa and Trinity hugging one another. It warmed the heart to see such an instant and strong relationship.

The warm embrace hightened as Neasa returned the feeling to Trinity. The childs heart strted to finally feel at ease with sucha hug that meant everything to her. It had been so long since she had gotten a hug that was from someone that reminded her of her mother. "Nee-asa.... I will miss you... I feel like... crying because I'm going to be leaving you... but I know i'm coming back to visit you..." The child sobbed momentarily as she kept the hug until she moved away from Neasa, her eye's half closed with a tear in each eye. "You promise... you will get my messages?" She asked as if only to leave with the reassurance that if she needed to talk to her or tell her soemthin gthat she would be there for her. Derek on the other hand, she already knew that he spoke words that would come true, but Trinity needed the assurance from someone that she had already came so close to be near, yet leaving just the same. "I don't know how, Nee-asa see's what I do, but I wish you could too!" She told Derek as she moved away from Neasa and walked liked it was her execution date nearer to boy she'd be living with. WIth a moment of need, she reached her hand up and grabbed Dereks hand. The hands in comparison were great, and 8 year olds small petite hand against a 17 year old boys strong hand. "Derek... can we go... 'home'?" She asked with such an innocent nature.

" I will get the messages. The plants are my family, they'll delever it. I will always get the message." Neasa said and slowly backed away to stand beside a tree. The long green hair, falling to her ankles, was pressed between her body and the back of the tree. Her jade face sunk into shadows, her green and wonderous eyes the only visible thing as crystal clear tears dropped to the grass one after the other. Life seemed to spring from the tears' touch as vines began to twist up the tree trunk she was leaning on. " You will be better off with your kind. But, we will see each other again. This I can promise." The sound of a sad kayen's voice drifted from the tree as Neasa sunk further into the shadows of the forest. " Take care of her, Derek." Danced through the air as the small figure disappeared through the trees.
It has been at least a hundred years since the last time I have cried. Now, I truly know why I hate crying. You feel so tired afterwards, so drained. Ah, I'll have to visit the lake later and absorb some of the water. It tires me out so very much. Neasa thought, standing at the top of the tree, looking down at Trinity and Derek.
Derek looked up to see Neasa and nodded his yes, and that he would take very good care of the small child whose hand he now held. " Let's go home, Little one." His voice was kind as he kept hold of her hand gently. " We'll come back Friday. I promise." He added, looking down to the kid and smiling as best he could. He had seen those silvery tears flow from the Kayen's eyes. She may not be human, but Derek knew that Neasa had emotions. That she could feel sorrow and joy all at once.
