Maya kissed back, allowing her lips to linger on his abit longer. She smiled, and then began laughing with Clint at both of their appearances. Her fingers interlaced with his own. She, for the first time in a long time, felt comforted. Even through the heaviest of rain; she felt secure....Well, at leas she was until a large roll of thunder rippled throughout the atmosphere, which caused her to jump. "You know, I don't have to go back to the bar," she laughed abit, moving in closer to him, "What do you say about going back to my house? This storm just might become serious..." Her lavender eyes bounced around the full parking lot, and up to the sky which was now dropping rain by the tons, at least that's what it seemed. "How'd you get here? My car's over there." She kept her fingers laced with his, and jogged the way to her car. The only time she was to release was when she slid into the driver's side, and Clint the passenger's.

Clint smiled slowly as her lips lingered on his for just that extra second. He nodded. "Yeah, it does seem to be getting worse. This storm just showed up out of no where." He looked up and covered his eyes as best he could from the rain. " Those storm clouds are dark." He watched a bolt of lightning streak across the sky. That is when Maya slipped her hand into his and locked their fingers together. "Oh me? I walked." He answered, pointing up the street that he had came down from. She practically pulled him to her own car and let go of his hand only when they had to get in seperate sides of the car.

He sighed and shivered a little as he sat in the sudden dryness of the car. He hoped to God she didnt turn the air on. He ran a hand through his now thoroughly soaked hair. He looked over, watching her get into the car. He remembered the white house Darcy had labeled as her's and Maya's. "Umm. Is Darcy at home?" He asked, then mentally smacked himself. Why would she leave Darcy at home alone exactly? She was hardly as irresponcible as that! "I mean..Oh that was stupid." He muttered, leaning his head against the dashboard of the car.

Maya inserted the key into the ignition, starting up the car. The headlights were the only things that lit up the darkened parking lot. Honestly, Maya loved the dark...It was a place that was full of mystery, yet so comforting...No one could be judged in the dark; Well, for other reasons they could, but that was another story. Maya then turned on the heat, her skin blanketed in goosebumps. At first, it came out as cool air, which made Maya frown abit. But over that fifteen or twenty second period, it began to warm up. She began to rub her hands together. "Hah. No, Darcy's with a babysitter right now, no worries." She smiled at Clint. It meant alot that he was actually concerned about Darcy in the least bit. "Welp, to the White house it is?" She didn't give him time enough to object nor agree beore she began backing out of the the parking space, and soon driving out of the parkinglot itself.

Clint heard the car start up. The cold air blasted him as his head was so close to the vent, but is suddenly began to warm up. Thank God. He resisted the urge to huddle near the heat and sat back straight. " Baby sitters...Good.." He said nodding as he tried to think of something else to say. He was pretty sure he had spilled out his entire heart to this woman, and couldnt think of anything else to say. "Yes, off to the white house." He stated a little weakly as he let the warm air blow over his cold skin and wet clothes. He watched the road go by at a rather fast pace. "Well..." He started. "What happened to your job at the Inn exactly? And how did you come by getting the job at the night club?"

Maya kept her eyes on the road, concentraiting. The rain came at the car at such a fast pace, but only because they were in a moving vehicle. Yet, she listened to clint. "I'm such a multi-tasker," she mumbled to herself, near sarcastically. Her comment made her smile abit. "Well," she began, keeping her eyes upon the road, "The Inn was highly boring...And I felt that I was too good of a bartender to be working for the low prices they payed me there back at Russu...The night club is more exciting, and they were looking for an experince bartender."

Her eyes shifted to Clint, but only for a second. Her right foot moved to the brake pedal, allowing the car to come to a slow hault at a red light. She set rested her head the head rest, her eyes now on Clint. "I don't know...I saw a person I hadn't seen in so many years...He kinda ruined my mood to work at that place anymore...It's no biggie though..." Her eyes diverted from him to the road; the light was a long holding one. "Clint, really, if you want me to quit bartending, I will..." She said, placing her hands back on the wheel although the light was still red.

"Eh?" Clints head lifted up. Someone she didnt want to see? A look of confusion passed over his face. He shook his head, if she didnt want to go into detail, he wouldnt ask it of her. "Well, if you enjoy the job as much as I think you do, then have fun with it. I wouldnt be the one to tell you to quit, I have no right, or want to do that to you. All I can think about is even if I said, yes, quit.. then you would always think, "Well I liked that job, and I wanted to keep it, but because of Clint.." I dont want that kind of guilt, that kind of doubt.. Just have fun with it Maya..I will stay out of your way.."

He laid his head back down near the heater. His clothes were thoroughly soaked. "Hey, shouldnt we go somewhere to get some clothes? I highly doubt you have any that would fit me.." He said quite matter of factly.

Maya listened to him, her eyes on the road. He was so...So deep? What had happened to him before that made him like this? Not tht is was nessasarily a bad way to be, but it seemed as though since he had changed his ways, he seemed more remorseful than ever. Perhaps there was still a little resintment there inbetween the two fo them...Well, Maya trusted him, didn't she? Yes....The question was:

"Clint...Do you trust me?" She asked reluctantly. The car began to slow as it pulled into another parking lot...This one, unlike the club, was far more vacant. But that was okay. At this clothing department, there was less crowding, which wasn't a bad thing. Maya parked the car, her hands resting upon the steering wheel. Her lavender gaze was focused intently on Clint.

((Ill assume xD)) When even the slightest sound of silence answered her, she hit the steerung wheel with her hands, but not hard enough to allow the horn to honk.

"'Cause dam*** Clint, I'm feeling like you don't," She said. Her gaze stayed focused on him.
Perhaps she was too emotional? Or was she just highly insecure?

Clint looked up and sighed. " I do not trust people. I didnt trust my mother, I didnt trust the people that took me in, treated me like a common slave. I didnt trust anyone that claimed to be my friend.. I hate that about myself. But I have come to accept that as part of who I am. I will always doubt, I will always fear. It is the one part of me that I feel is human.." He sighed and leaned back in his seat.

"But I'll be damned if I dont want to trust you. I want to be sure that there is no way that you would do anything to hurt me, to hurt us.. I want to know.. That there is no reason to worry..to doubt.." His hooded eyes stared at Maya, hoping he was bearing his soul to her in that gaze. " I love you Maya.. I just.. I cant change what goes on in this twisted head of mine. I will always be Clint. No matter how I change my actions and appearance, I will always be the same me.." He hated that she was frustrated, maybe even a little angry, but he couldnt say he blamed her. He ran a hand through his hair roughly pulling it away from his face. He put his hand on the door handle, about to get out of the car. His head fell. " Can you bear to be with me..with all of my problems?"

He was hurting...Maya could tell. But then again, so was should. He wanted to trust her, he needed her. But isn't that what two hurt souls did? They healed eachother and grew into one? No matter how much she acted as the crutch, Maya needed Clint as much as he needed her...She sat uin silence after he had asked his question. The padding of heavy rain drops on the roof of the car were heavenly. And then, there was that ocassional streak of lightening, roll of thunder. Maya exhaled deeply, and watched as the light from the lighting that dashed across the sky streaked Clint's face. She couldn't help but to allow a little smile to ease upon her face. "Of course, as best I can..." She paused, "Can you deal with me and all of myproblems?"

Clint stared for a moment, but began to laugh. "Yeah. I think I can do that. Lets be one big happy disfunctional family." He said with more than a slight hint of humor. He pulled the door handle and pushed his shoulder against the door to get it open. He got out, only slightly wincing at the cold rain. He ran over to the other door and opened it for Maya, holding out a hand for her. "Come on.. only way to go is forward." He said with a hint of a smile. He helped her to get out of the car. "Lets go." He said, rushing to the clothes shop. Once inside he shuddered violently. The cold air hit him in a blast. "Woah! That is cold!" He put his arms around Maya and held her close. "Keep me warm. We can walk just like this. Might need to waddle some, but it'll work!" He said chuckling.

Maya smiled as he showed a sense of humor. A happy, disfunctional family. How original! Maya then laughed with him. She wtached as he got out of the car, and ran to her side. As he opened the door, she put her cold hand in his own. And off they were in the cool rain. Even when Maya metally prepared herself for the loud crakcs of thunder in the sky, she still jumped. She too began to shake as they entered the store. "Gah! It is cold in here!" She brushed off the occasional glances of other customers. What? They'd never seen a couple soaking wet before? Maya's arms wrapped around CLint's torso, her wet body clinging to his.at first, the compression of their bodies made her squeel a little with laughter, but then their shared heat finally kicked in. "Hey clint, lets go streaking," Maya laughed, "It's better than being in these wet clothes," she said, only joking.

Clint chuckled. "If you think the looks they are giving us now is bad enough, just wait until we take our clothes off and go running around like a bunch of lunatics that escaped from the mental institution." He laughed again. " I would find it endlessly entertaining if you did it though.. But when they called the cops our fun would be over sadly enough. " He said mock sadly. He began to walk toward the men's clothes. "You wanna help me pic out an outfit? I know! We can do a fashion show! Ha! Like they would let us try on clothes when we are drenched with rain. Anyways.. Seriously, you want me to help you find a cute outfit?" He asked, pointing toward the woman's section.

Maya jumped, displaying the false over-excitement of a little child; more so Darcy "Fashion show, Fashion show!!" She laughed, settling down abit. "Oh and yeah, watching you wouldn't be half as bad either," she said in a playful tone. She inhaled deeply, "Behave Maya," she said aloud, a smile grin creeping amongst her face. hEr eyes skimmed over to the woman's section, and her head nodded. "A guy WHO'S STRAIGHT, who wants to help his girl shop...How rare," Maya laughed abit. "M'kay," she began, "You find mine first, and then, I'll find yours?"

He laughed at Mayas self reprimand. "No..No need to behave." He said almost distractedly. "And really did you have to emphasize, Who Is Straight? I mean really.." He said jokingly. "Yeah, come on.. Lets find you a cute little outfit. Only reason Im doing it is because Im going to find something you look hot in and watch you walk around in it whilst I pant like a sick puppy dog." He said shrugging. He wouldnt cut corners, he would let her know his reasoning. He walked over to the miniskirts and found an extremely hideously short skirt that was cut even shorter by a trim of lace at the end. "How about this one?" He asked, his eyes lighting up with glee. He took on a fake gay accent. "Look, it matches your hair darling." He burst out laughing. Been a while since he had this much fun. His eyes sparkled with humor as he shook his head. Something caught his eye. It was a light grey pair of slacks that curved around the hips and flared out around the knees only slightly, but enough to be noticeable. It had a light lavender embordering that wound around one hip and trailed down into a little flower pattern at the mid-thigh. "Hmm.." That really did match her eyes..He grinned and held them out proudly. "What about these..They your size?" He asked, looking at the inside tag.

Maya laughed as he told her the true meaning of him wanting to help find her an outfit. She turned her head towards him, planting a big kiss on his cheek which was still streaked with cool droplets of rain. "Clint, I have to behave, we're in public," She said, jokingly...Maya had been there done that...Oh, but that was so long ago! Teenagers did just about anything...She shook her head at the thought, her eyes focusing on the skirt Clint had picked out. She walked over, running her fingers along it, laughing. "Ohmagosh!" She said began in such a flamboyant manner, "It soo does!!" She exclaimed, and continued laughing.

"If I dropped a pen," she chuckled, "I couldn't bend over to pick it up!" She took the skirt as he handed it to her, while reaching over grabbing an different pair of bottoms. She looked at them as he held them forth. Her fingers ran down the leg of the pants. They held somewhat of a silken texture to them aaaand: The embroidery matchd her eyes. "Aah. These are gorgeous!" She put her index finger to her chin, thinking. Okay, yes, the skirt was short, but it was cute. But so were the slacks. "Hmm...Lets get both?" She smiled, looking around a little before glancing back at CLint.
"Whatever we get, I can't wait to pick out your outfit." she smiled cheesily, "You've got a hot body, so I think you should show it off." She winked at him, thus, turning on her heels. She headed for the men's section.
