Ouch. Cold.
Danny mustered up his most piercing glare from within his reserves of anger to stare irately at Ravyn. He didn't say anything, afraid that some stupid words would break his intense concentration on keeping up the most foreboding and threatening expression possible. Plus, he wasn't exactly sure that what he was about to say, something to the tune of "Manners, huh?" wouldn't sound totally lame. So he kept his mouth shut and his eyes narrowed, trained on Ravyn. The whole thing was partly for his sake, and partly for Renee's. He wanted to prove to her that he was no wimp. She didn't seem to think too highly of him, and he wasn't about to lower her esteem for him even more by turning away the second Ravyn's eyes rested on him, no matter how uncomfortable it did make him feel. There was just something about him that made Danny just want to squirm. He didn't respond to Ravyn's statements.
The young woman, of course, wasn't paying much attention to Danny. She was still fascinated with the dark-haired man, her eyes now fixated on his, trying to recapture that strange sort of jolt that she got at their first contact. She half-smiled, extending her hand out to Ravyn. "Yeah. The pleasure is all mine." Danny thought that she stressed the last word a bit more than was necessary. He cleared his throat loudly as a distraction to keep Ravyn's hand from reaching out and touching hers.
Renee whipped her head around quickly, ready to silence whatever he was about to say. However, she took one look at him and forgot all her snappy retorts in a hysterical laughing spree, breaking his carefully composed mask and turning his expression into one of pure confusion.
"Jesus, Danny! What are you, constipated? You should see your face!"
Danny's face screwed up on itself even more, and his cheeks flushed red in mortification. "What the hell are you talking about! I'm not the one who's practically offering myself to the next guy who walks up!"
Renee rolled her eyes. "Well, if you were offering yourself to the next guy you saw, that would most likely make you gay, and you wouldn't stare at my boobs so much," she scoffed. Her cold glare seemed to say, "Oh, yes. It was easy to notice." That just made Danny blush and look away quickly. Reaching up, she twisted a few strands of blonde hair about her finger absently. "Besides, I'm just being personable," she innocently stated. "I think you're only a little crabby today. Seriously, what's got your boxers all in a knot?"
"Dammit, Renee, if you weren't... weren't..." he couldn't finish his sentence, and his face grew even hotter. He could feel his ears burning off his face, and Renee's smile boring into the back of his head.
"You don't even know the first of it, Daniel," she told him, a certain seriousness in her voice. "Now. If you'll excuse me, I'm skipping out of here. Tell Ellis if you wish. I don't care." She glanced at Ravyn casually, the ease at which she did it underscoring the motion. "I'm free for a few hours, by the way," she hinted blatantly, obviously not trying to disguise her frankness.
Danny smacked his face for the umpteenth time.

Devon smiled at Lorna yet again. He leaned forward and with his good hand cupped the side of her beautiful face. "Really? That is always nice." He said, about her allowing him to go to the shelter's food line and offer help. He stood up and sighed. He turned around and walked casually through the line of people that had shown up for the days meal. As he passed them by, he saw the generous assortment of food offered. Not bad.
He looked up and saw Ellis, talking socially to one of the men that had held up a bowl for his helping. With out even noticing that there was anything remotely different about Ellis, Devon walked up and stood in front of him, waiting to be noticed. He looked around and tapped Ellis on the shoulder. "Dude, you look like you could use some help.. Want me to take up a spot somewhere in the line? Your helpers took off out the door.." He motioned toward the exit randomly. "Hey Lorna! There is an extra spot over here, wanna serve food with me?" He asked with a grin. He motioned for her to join and took up a spot next to Ellis.
Ravyn watched the man with relative interest. How.. Intriguing.. He was so at war with himself. Trying to be all strong for a girl that shows no intrest in him at all.. Ravyn shrugged. He took her hand in his, lifting it to barely brush his lips across her knuckles, ignoring Danny's obvious protest. He would not be distracted from Renee. His eyes stayed trained on her as he stood back up and released her hand. " The pleasure is mine as well."
"Fool, indeed." He said in a flat tone. He turned to face Danny, who was having a hard time near Ravyn, and in the end was only hurting himself. " She did not offer herself in any way." He said truthfully. That was until she blatantly told him she was free for the next few hours, unless Ravyn was overthinking the situation. That look she gave him told him he was not. A smile lit on his features. " Really. Well as my plans for earlier have been ruined.." He muttered, giving a last glance at the two vampires.
In a rush, the fog completely disappeared. In the open air, even Ravyn found it easier to breath. He held out an arm, and hoped that Renee would take it. If she did, he wished that Lorna and especially Devon were here to see it. " You should really work on that angry face Daannyy." He lengthened the word, drawing it out. His look spoke of anger, yet only hinted at it. Otherwise it was just a blank. The emotioned showing through his eyes.
"Now Renee.. Exactly what did you have in mind for this afternoon. Now that you are away from here?" He asked, motioning with one hand freely toward the shelter. His eyes caught sight of the vampires, now in the open drinking packets of blood. Disgusting, he couldnt take the sight. With a slight sneer, he turned his gaze back to Renee.

Rayner returned that sneer with an unhappy look of his own. He didn't see why it bothered Ravyn so much. Nor did he care. However if that pathetic sake of bones thought of hurting Gabrielle, Rayner was sure to forget his manors and allow the human a taste of vamperic powers. Then again, Gabrielle would have probably slipped off the deep end if pushed enough and probably would also assist in make Ravyn 'disappear'. Ah, those weren't kind thoughts to be thinking and both of the Valerious siblings dismissed them in such a hurried manor that it was almost shocking.
" He seems to be fairly unkind to everyone but woman. Myself excluded. I shall never grasp an understanding of how human men think. Rayner, make sure I marry a vampire of half-breed. Humans seem too complicated." Gabrielle said, placing the now empty blood-packet in the trash and walking towards Danny who seemed to be being dismissed. Rayner, as if he were a gaurd dog, tossed his own empty blood-packet and took his place at his sister's side.
" It seems that that man is unkind to anyone that might pose a threat. I assume this is typical human reactions, right brother?" Gabrielle asked softly, her eyes focusing on Ravyn for a minute before shifting to Danny. " I feel bad for that one. He seems interested in the woman." Gabrielle sighed softly and continued with her graceful and fluid walk towards Danny and the other two. More Danny as Renee and Ravyn seemed intent on performing a little disappearing act.
" I'd have to say your assumption is correct, Sister. For if he merely gave woman respect you surely would have gotten some." Rayner replied, his thick accent helping his status of half-breed become more obvious. Gabrielle nodded her head slowly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing a mere motion that showed she understood what her brother said.
Meanwhile, Lorna laughed and appeared in the doorway. Her eyes fell on Ravyn for a second and she shook his head. Confrontational people generally annoyed her to the point where she would possibly hurt them. However, he hadn't been to rude to Lorna so she figured she'd let him off without a need to be warned. Her eyes fell on Renee, unsure of who she was, Lorna shrugged and walked towards the tent, Ellis and Devon. " I'll help. Though donating all this stuff should have been enough...Devon asked so nicely." She called over.
Upon passing Danny she smiled, nodded her head welcomingly and continued her trek from one place to the other. It was a casual stroll, merely interupted by Gabrielle asking if there was anything else left that needed unpacking. Upon hearing the 'no', Gabrielle allowed Lorna to continue towards Ellis and Devon. Meanwhile, The siblings had approached Danny and the other two.

Ellis blinked in a slight confusion when he felt the vibrations of Devon's foreign gait approaching him, and was tapped on the shoulder. He assumed it was the same man. The one he was talking to had moved on to get a helping of mashed potatoes at the next station.
Could he help, he was asking? "Oh, of course," Ellis said, his eyebrows slightly drawn together in thought. "But... two of my helpers took off?" The crease on his forehead deepened, making the ridges stand out starkly in the fluorescent lighting of the shelter. "Renee..." he murmured under his breath, rubbing his temple with his free left hand. He hadn't even noticed that they had skipped out on him; he had been so involved in everything he was doing.
"I would quite appreciate the help, thank you. We never seem to have enough hands here. Especially since a few of our member seem to not care as much about others more than their own itineraries..." There was no bitterness in his voice -- only resign. Justice comes to everyone at his own time. He would have a talk with the two later. His eyes drifted towards the sound of Lorna approaching to help out as well. He smiled in her general direction, much lower than her face.
"Thank you both. And I must say that I do appreciate everything you all do; as do the people here --" he gestured to the spread of tables cafeteria-style where people were eating at in relative comfort. "May I ask your names? I feel silly for not introducing myself until now. Ellis Ayle."
Renee raised a thin brow as Ravyn touched his lips to the top of her hand, but smiled triumphantly nonetheless. "Well, a gentleman, I see. Danny has really got you all wrong, Ravyn."
Danny grunted angrily. The only thing he could see when he looked at Renee was another black eye waiting to happen -- a black eye, a broken wrist, and no tears. That was almost worse. The look that Ravyn gave her, that hunger, that sick intention he could see in his eyes that Renee sure didn't help to keep down, made Danny want to throw up. Or punch him in the face. He seriously considered it, though the guy looked as though he would beat him in a fight easily.
Maybe he wouldn't need to. The two people that Ravyn had stolen a quick glance at when he murmured something about his plans being ruined were approaching fast. Perhaps they would keep Renee from running off with this guy to do... whatever. He didn't even want to contemplate what someone like she would choose. Even though he barely knew what Renee was really like, or what she did in her free time (as she was rather secretive around people about those kinds of things), he felt as though he could make a pretty good guess.
Renee had seen the two people coming towards them out of the corner of her eye, and had positioned herself so that she linked her arm into Ravyn's and wrapped her fingers delicately around his bicep as far as they would go. She was laughing.
"What do I want to do? As of now I truly don't have anything in mind. It's much easier to submit to whatever the person I'm with wants to do." Danny grimaced at her words. He could see this set-up, and he knew the outcome. It always ended the same way. She made sure it always ended the same way, and hell if he could know why. He was being addressed by Renee: "Hey, Danny! Why don't you practice your angry face on these two, eh? You should listen to Ravyn's advice. You do need practice."
"Dammit, Renee, you are a piece of work!" He yelled angrily. "What is with you? I don't get it!"
Renee smiled easily without answering.

Devon smiled at Lorna. "Thanks.." He said with a smile that spoke volumes about what she had said. He noticed that somehow he startled Ellis, and he didnt mean to.. "Oh, umm.. Devon Heise, at your service!" He said with a friendly smile in Ellis's direction. He turned to the line that had quickly formed in front of him and began to ladle out whatever soup was in front of him, and helped pass out bread as well until Lorna got beside him to take over the job. He smiled warmly at each of them as he gave them their food, and some actually smiled back. He took easily to the job and quickly got them their food so they could eat. "Come on Lorna babe." He patted the spot next to him and smiled.
Ravyn smiled at her response. "Hey, looks can be decieving." He said, his eyes searching her face. One thing that Ravyn could never do was hurt a woman, as much as a woman might decidedly deserve it. He shook his head only slightly as he noticed a very slight discoloration around her eye. He felt her take his arm and saw Gabrielle and Rayner walking over. He rolled his eyes. What did they want? Wait..why just think it? He had some.. talking .. to do with Renee. "What do you want?" He asked in an only slightly sarcastic tone. Bully for him, he was extremely irritated, and it barely showed.
He shook his head again, a little more forcefully. "I am sorry you three, but I have company now. I wish to talk to her in privacy. If you dont mind." He said, lightly pulling her arm away from the small group, unable to repress the smile at her sentence to Danny. "Do you two even get along?" He whispered with a hint of humor.

" Rude." Sighed Gabrielle rolling her eyes at Ravyn, as she continued to hold the parasol above her head and hide her golden locks from the sun. " I hope I never encounter another rude human, such as he. Especially not when I begin attending the school." Sighed Gabrielle, finding Renee's manors to be below par as well. However, based on her teachings, Gabrielle was a little too manored for anything.
" Sister." Sighed Rayner, shaking his head. His blue eyes had only grazed of Renee for a moment, as he generally did with everyone he came across. Though she was beautiful, no doubt, her personality ruined the whole mirage. Prehaps Rayner was expecting more polite and well behaved people. Turning his attention to Danny and lowered his head only slightly as a greeting. " Hello." He began. " It seems you and your friend don't see eye to eye on that fellow. I'd personally be wary of him as well, seems how he was hitting on our friend just moments ago." Rayner said.
" Brother, please. I don't want to have to call father and get 'that' sent here because you go in another fight. Let the girl do what she pleases, it has nothing to do with us. I fear that man just doesn't like us for what we are." Gabrielle spoke, her words dripping with that accent that never seemed to leave her. A hand calmly gave her brother a pat on the shoulder. " Do not worry this poor boy either." Concluded the 15-year old vampire, her voice calm and level.
" We are Rayner and Gabrielle Valerious." Gabrielle began, turning to the young man. A small hand lifted her dress' skirt onlya centimeter of the ground as she gave a slight curtsey. " I would like to appologize if my brother has worried you in anyway. It is a happen of his to speak his mind honestly." Gabrielle explained further.
" Sister, please. I can explain on my own, thank you very much." Muttered Rayner, sighing heavily as he looked down into his sisters face.
" If you can do that, why haven't you?" Gabrielle said calmly, a look of questioning settled on her features. She had won, for Rayner returned the question with silence as his answer. She smiled, satified that she had silenced his defiance for the time being.
Elsewhere, Lorna had come to stand beside Devon, and was assisting, in a timely manor, with the handing out of food. As Devon would smile, so would she and thrown in a " Here you Go", " Enjoy", and the such. Looking to Ellis she gave a soft smile before facing foreward once more. " My name is Lorna Russu." Her introduction was nothing short of plain and simple. " It's a pity that some people would rather do nothing than help those who need it most. Especially when most of the world is against them." Sighed the young woman, referering to the fact that many of the people before them had some kind of power as this was the home of the gifteds.
" It is truly sad." The woman added, her voice a little softer and filled with a bit of sorry. Worried eyes drifted to Gabrielle and Rayner. It seemed that Ravyn, the pest, had not left. All Lorna was hoping was that the man would leave without attempting to hurt Lorna's vampiric friends in any way shape or form.
