{Killing Time}

Rein walked along the edge of the lake. Her black hair blew in the wind. Her bright blue eyes seemed dulled. She stopped and turned to face the water. Her eyes searched for something, anything out of the ordinary. This was the way her life was everyday. She was constantly worried that they would find her. She sat down on the edge of the water. She looked out across it getting ready to use her powers.

She hugged her knees. Her blue eyes still flitted around. Looking in every direction. She looked up at the sunny sky. It was to bright. She deeply wished she saw rain clouds on the horizon. Much to her dismay the sky was empty. Like her bright blue eyes showing no expression. 'I really should practice for a while' She thought to herself but she was just not in the mood.

"Dotado.....?" A tall figure said to himself confused as he looked down on the city from a broken down building. "Have I finally reached my destination?" He added as he crouched down and pulled off his mask, revealing two piercing red eyes. "This can't be it...." he said to himself as he scanned the area, soon spotting a girl.

The figure seemed to focus on her, examining her details. "She seems cautious..." He said as he stood up. "Can she be trusted?" He thought to himself as he looked at her, then at the numbers on his hand, quickly reminiscing on his history.

Now with his mind racing with thought of an assassin, he put his mask back on and put his hand on his sword, gripping it tightly. "No.....I can't" He said as he sighed and let go of his sword. "She is the only one here and she might be the only one who can answer my question..." He said as he tapped his armor, checking it just in case.

He then took a few steps back, then ran off of the building, jumping high into the air, flipping then straightening out into a dive toward the surface. A few seconds later, the man came crashing down some yards behind the girl, forming a small crater. "Hey..........im Sudai.." He said as he slowly stood up and pulled off his mask.

Rein noticed a figure on a roof top. Her empty blue eyes watched cautiously. He looked like someone strong. She tensed and wondered what type of person they would send after her. Her right hand went to the I.D. braclets on her wrist and the destruction bracelet. 'They wouldn't try to kill her would they?' She wondered. The figure suddenly jumped down. Her eyes widened slightly in awe then narrowed.

"Hey......im Sudai."

She did not turn at first. 'Would they tell me their name?' She wondered. She stood up but did not turn. In front of her an her hands an orb built up. It was a brilliant blue color. She still didn't turn. She didn't want him to see the orb it was just a precaution.

"Were you sent by the scientist?" She asked in an unreadable tone. She was good at that. She stared out at the water. Her eyes off somewhere in the distance. In fact she looked pretty distant just standing their staring straight ahead at nothing.

Alana's hand fluttered up, brushing strands of her scarlet hair from her face. Her focus had been on, at first, a man on a roof-top. Her eyes followed his line of vision, which in turn, led them to an un-suspecting girl. A thin eyebrow quirked. What was this? Was he going to attatck someone who obviously wasbn't aware. Or maybe, just maybe, they were playing a game of hide-N-go-kill? You know, the game where you snuck up behind the opponent, them not even suspecting their well-awaited death?

Alana shook her head. She, as usual, was over-thinking things. Her thoughts were often of irrelavent, innapropriate, idiotic thoughts. Luckily, for the people around her, she didn't speak everything she thought. The woman moved forth, her eyes bouncing from the girl and back to the man. With his mask on, she couldn't quite get a definate age going for him, but, guessed that he was young. Seeing the way he moved, with great agility, he should have been fairly young. Alana was never one to know. From Alana's perspective, she could see an aquatic orb forming in the girl's palms. Water Bender. Alana thought to herself. As she got closer, her rosey lips parted, "Don't move any closer, Sir, she's obviously sufering from paranoia," rolling right of of her tounge. Her fingers moved up, resting on a silver cross that hung as a charm from her necklace.

Sudai quickly turned toward the new arriver. Sudais heart started to beat faster, his instincts kicked in as he prepared for his defence. Yet, he changed his mind. He didnt want a bad record of his new "home", knowing he was already too deep in to mess up again. So he fled, brushing past Rein with great speed, secretly slipping something into her pocket. Sudai continued to run until he finally hit the surface of the water, where he slid into a turn, gliding ontop of the water. He then jumped high and far, creating a big splash behind him. Sudai landed far, far away from where he first jumped off and started to run out until he could no longer be seen.

Rein stared blankly at the water where he had created a splash. She slowly put her hands together evaporating the water. She relized he was not someone after her. She sighed slightly and her black hair blew in the wind. She stepped back and turned towards the new comer fumbling with her metal bracelets. She finally looked up at her.

"Hi..." She said simply.

Alana's eyes raced after the guy who had ran. Certiantly this isn't his way of making a name for himself in this town...Running. Very nice mister, but I am sure that we'll meet again...The town isn't that big. Her head shook, eyes sauntering back over to the girl. Her hand lifted into the oh so common gesture, before falling back to her side. "Hello." Alana was already bored. She was slightly upset that the person had ran. He looked as though he would've made for an interesting canidate, but whatever. He was gone...Just like everyone Alana once called family and friends.

Rein noticed the girls uninterested expression. Rein turned back around. "Rein," She mumbled under he breath. She was still confused about the guy in the armor. She sighed and sat down. This time with her legs out in front of her. She put out her hands. Her out as if she was holding and invisible ball. Water slowly formed in the shape of Rein when she was younger. She stared at it before closing her hands.

"Depressed water bender..." Alana said with a slight scoff. She was tired of the cliche'. Right now, she felt like living, and she didn't need her moods being brought down right now from thoughts of her past, or by a seemingly depressed stranger. "Alana," she stated flatly, onl before turning to walk away. she need to do something spontaneous. Were there any night clubs around?
